Really I was right!? ...
Cause I was playing as Caldari.. and there were tons of ships. Then I played minmatar and it was like empty space... lots of ...nothing.
Is there a mod that can verify this or something?

Caldari, for some reason I don't know, is one of if not the most popular race of all 4. When they release the Jove race, then that will probably change.

eh i wish it was just trying to promote caldari values.
my guess is 40% gallente 30% amarr 15% caldari 15% minmatar

Probably many reasons to play Caldari over other races like:
1¦ Top left race at the creation screen and default selected
2¦ Semi-human faces while some others have"... er... issues
3¦ Military description
4¦ Closest related to earth human race
5¦ The Moa is the best ship in the universe, is it?

My favourate race is amarr ships but i fly caldari because i love the way Missiles work now

The reason is because caldari chars have the best attributes.
Gallante Charisma is too high
Amarr willpower is too high
Minmatar intel/mem is too low
Caldari has good everything but charisma.

I think if charisma would acctually be worth anything Caldari wouldn't be so pupular...
Also Caldari resemble somewhat of an "caucasian ideal", so I think a lot of new people find them simply the best looking.
Overall I find the fact that most people play Caldari a point against them though. Being like everybody else sucks.

I looked at each race before picking Caldari, and they were the only one that fit into my way of thinking, more or less. I prefer to be basically the under dog (I was Terran Republic on Planetside...we were always getting owned too), and I just happen to like being part of a strong military faction, regardless of size or actual dipiction in the game

I knew nothing about the various Eve races when I first booted up the game and had the darndest time figuring out which one to pick. I think I picked Amarr because their ships were supposed to be the most heavily armored and I thought that might buy me a little extra time in battle while I tried to figure out what the heck was going on. That and the lasers appealed to me more than the other weapons.

My stats > anything you Caldari nubbins can come up with. For PvP 10 Intel/10 Perc/8 Willpower base is too sexy to pass up on, imho. Sebiestor ftw!

The real numbers were posted by a dev a few years ago.
Caldari had the most and Amarr had the least IIRC (gallente 2nd, minnie 3rd).

well except for the military part, if you wanted to be the underdog you should have gone minmatar :P
anyway, i picked sebiestor cus they're more of a 'work from the shadows' type
the amarr religious fetish just bores me to death, and i didn't like the caldari because of the whole 'GI-Joe-i-can-make-bricks-using-my-chin-as-a-template' look
and the gallente, well... they're french!

I think most people just take caldari because they look the best. And they aren't very creative in making good-looking or original chars with other races.
Besically, my guess is: People who make their first char, not knowing anything about attributes, will make a caldari more likely then anything else. I myself am the exception to that rule
Older players, who know the ropes, will more likely take a char with balanced attributes, like sebiestors.

last time they gave out numbers was in the jove bodypart event.
its a while ago and i do have no idear if it has changed since than.
at that time it was 1. caldari close followed by galente than after a big gap minmatar close followed by amarr. yes at that time amarr was clear last. who whant to play a stubborn racist religeous extremist???
the storrryline say different. there the minmatar are discribed as the most numerous but not most powerfull as 1 third are enslaved to the amarr and big numbers live in the galente federation and the remaining sovereign minmatar ppl are divided into the ammatar and minmatar republic and the tukkertribe out in 0.0. just the ones living in the republic do eaqual the caldari who are nothing more than a galente federation splitoff :-)

Well i started Gallente then converted to caldari . . . but after the missile patch my 150k in missiles didnt really cut it, so i went back to gallente and frankly dam there mint!
i put my faith in drones and rails anyday

they just lack something in the middle.
but with rails amazing fall off who needs a middle!
and heck what has caldari got that looks anything like a thorax. you just got boxy ships of ugglyness

I remember that CCP did the breakdown of races.
Caldari were miles ahead of any other race.
Pretty sure it went
Caldari > Gallente > Amarr > Minmatar
for numbers.
When the Caldari Achura Monk comes in, expect to see most new players signing up for that.....
