Edited by: Trale on 26/01/2006 05:23:07 Hi Im fairly new to the game and had some questions about Trading Goods as a means of making money.
I currently have 750000SP and most revolve around trading goods. I have 11 Mil saved up and can hold aprox 13400m3.
I can make about a million on a good 12 jump run.
Just wondering if I can go further in this career or should i branch off into new areas? Is black market running a good area for isk? Is a 2nd tier ship worth teching after?
If so what are the goods I should be trading and sectors for this.
Thanks, Trale

If you want to be a sucessful trader in eve, you need to put in time and investment. You need to research the market in your area of space and see what people are buying. Remember to always buy low and sell high.
Always research your trade routes and try and establish routes that will bring you in ISK quickly and in the least amount of time. Increase your cargo capacity and work towards some of the bigger haulers so you can make more ISK on each run.
Avoid trading in illegal goods if your in empire space as you will be attacked by Concord if you are caught transporting contraband. The reward versus risk is not worth it for hauling illegal goods.
Do these things right and you can easily make a good few million in a couple of jumps.

You also need a lot of liquid ISK to make serious money trading.
Minerals can be extremely profitable. For example, if you spend hundreds of millions bulk-buying Zydrine in Jita or in a hub near a 0.0 exit, you can then ship it into less well-served empire regions and sell for a nice profit - perhaps 400ISK per unit or more. This effectively means that every 0.01m3 of your cargo space is generating 400isk or more. You can make tens or hundreds of millions doing this.
But, as I say, you need the cash to start with to buy the zydrine or other high value minerals. But there is no reason you can't start with, say, Mexallon and work your way up.

Come on home, buddy...The Trader's Lounge
You also might want to consider joining a trading-based corp.
