I'm collecting data/ getting feedback in regards to some apparent network problems between T-mobile and CCP. I am currently working with T-mobile engineers in hunting down where the problem is but I need feed back from more people using T-Mobile to connect.
1.It would help to know when your problems seamed to have started (pre Odyssey 1.1 or did it start in that patch)?
2.Are you tethering or using a hot spot with or without the tether plans (work around like pda.net or rooting)?
3.Do you notice if updates are working with STEAM, VLC, file zilla or other problems?
4.Have you noticed that some of your other programs have started loosing connections to servers for no reason?
5.What do your transfer speeds look like? (eg. 30KB 700KB...)
6.When you run the installer (not the launcher) does it hang and if so what is the size and % of that file (egg 123.23K in size).
7.Have you attempted to download the offline installer (3 parts)? Did they completely download (average speed?) and where you able to see the total file size wile downloading.
8.Have you opened a trouble ticked with CCP?
9.Can you or have you supplied logserver logs or are you able to run a Wireshark session and send to CCP?
Thanks for your help and hopefully we can isolate this problem and fix it.

Where you able to install and update the Eve client? Do you know what T-mobile uplink your getting handed off to? If you run OOKLA speed test what site does it connect too (eg.. Wellington KS). If you haven't successfully updated could you download and run Wireshark session when you try again? (http://www.wireshark.org/download.html ) attach to your ticket. |

Well, in short. T-mobile may be having some at the same time CCP is also changing things. Wire shark is not about your rig so much as following network spaghetti and such. Just close your programs that use the internet and launch WS. You'll notice no traffic on the WS. Fire up launcher/updater. Once its done eating its self save the WS session and send to CCP. Hopefully this will highlight the problem child router or bad ip.

Hopefully we will have a resolution by then. I see 2 common anomalies. First being the hanging 980K file during the update process. This only hangs when your on t- mobile. the second is a massive amount of bad files coming in from either t-mobile or CCP server. Can you try to down load 1 of the offline line installer payloads? Should be be about 3 gigs. Can you see id it tells you the total file size remaining to DL or no and kills between 250 and 300 megs in. ( DON'T DO IF YOU HAVE A LIMIT CAP ) |

OK, deep breath. 3dward I totally understand your frustration. It took 2 months to finally get the national t-mobile engineers on this and I am VVIP with them, go figure.
The real problem is with the parted file is size limit (5megs). Make your parts 4.5 megs and it should work. I had to try several times since this site reads file size different then what you see.
Thanks CCP Atropos for stopping by.
I was aware of the quirky problems with the steam client. But they appear not to be the problem here. I also have Borderlands 2 installed on the same computer and it operates and updates fine. As for wireshark, at a glance there are piles of Bad TCP and TCP RST errors during the "hang". So I am going to say that for what ever reason the request is not being respected quite rudely. I have a meeting this afternoon with T-mobile and will bring this up.

Update - We are finding that DL speeds seam to cycle down to around 80 to 120KB when attempting to download payloads for - Eve offline installer . This happened on the G4 and G4 lte networks. Though the test at McDonald's gave us slightly better results (10KB more) it did not hang and started to DL.
More to follow later. |

Thanks for the information . Even with the marginal sarcasm. Still useful. |
