I'm looking for a new AV program, and hoping to get some feedback/recommendations.
Right now I'm focusing on NOD32, which is supposed to use the least system resources, and Avast!, which appeals to my inner pirate.
What do y'all think?

I have had great luck with Avast. It scans very thoroughly, and has a nice resident scanner.

I use AVG and Lavasoft Adaware for viruses and spyware respectively. So far it's done the job fairly well.

Ive been using NOD32 for about 4 months now after switching from Norton and it kicks more ass then Chuck Norris!
You can hardly tell its running except when a wrning comes up and the little update icon pops up in the task bar.

Ive been using EZ Antivirus seems a decent little program and its free for a year atm.
My firewall is windows own and sygate personal firewall, also free for a year.
Adware/spyware i use Microsoft AntiSpyware, with Lavasofts Adaware and SpyBot Search and Destroy.
Top of the list is common sense, many people end up with viruses etc after not thinking about what they are doing, clicking that strange link in the email you just received etc etc. ---- Join Us

I dont use an antivirus program on my home network. I havent had a virus, ever.
But the best home user antivirus out there, in my opinion, Avast!. It does the job, it's reliable, it has YARRRR, and it's free. Other antiviruses do the same job, but cost. It's a no brainer really.

I'm using free AV .. you can always exclude programs from real time scanning ect (such as eve) in order to ensure in game performance isnt degraded. Works really well. -TT

I use AVG7, and it seems to do the job well enough.

I use Avast! myself and it works fine. It has a reasonably small memory footprint, and scans well.. plus.. you know, its called Avast!

From just about every review/report I've seen most antivirus programs are nearly the same. However, for a free one, Avast seems to be the best. PC-Cillin, McAfee, Norton, etc are all rated higher but that's mainly for their other added junk. I run McAfee personally, because Comcast gives it to all their subscribers for free.
