Yup, getting memory leaks here too. Bottom line is that it's most likely to be a bug somewhere with the client, especially when nothing else has changed recently. No doubt they'll get it fixed in a patch or two. In the meantime, restarting the client is a good enough workaround, although it is inconvenient.

I was using a GeForce TI 4200 and upgraded to a GeForce 5500 and the memory leak was still there afterwards, if that helps at all.

After about 5 hours play my eve client is 800mb or so. Never used to happen. It occurs on such a large timescale im not too bothered about it as a simple restart of the client fixes it. It is there however.

Originally by: Klinsanthoor It has nothing to do with .NET or something why should it..eve uses no .NET
There is definitely a memory-leak and an increased cpu-usage. The lag comes from both..so i hope they fix that soon
Hate to tell you this, but XP is no Linux. Things are tied at the hip big time in XP, and if .net is tied to your control center (video).......which EVE uses, then this can be a problem. I have verified that this is a POSSIBLE cause of memory issues in eve.
My own system is barebones XP with NONE of the wonky garbage normally installed as I ONLY use it to play EVE. I dual boot to Ubuntu LINUX for everything else, even EVE on occasion when I'm testing new versions of cedega.
ON my system, with a gig o' ram and a 6600 OC nvidia card without control center in the task bar, I see no unusual memory hits whatsoever no matter how long it sits running........and that included a 4 hour stint last night moving 1k worth of bookmarks around.

Righty, now let me get this straight...
Generally when a computer is drawing a 3d shape it draws the whole image in camera view, even when windows are on top. (guessing here)
When EvE is active on my comp (Cause i've had this problem SEVERAL times), it takes up 99% CPU and about 160MB+ of RAM (got 512MB)
When EvE is not the active window this shrinks down to 33-45% That's odd.... seems like it's consistently waiting for input as opposed to reacting to input.
When EvE is minimized memory shrinks from 160MB to about 16MB-20MB.... but this increases all the time too.
Now all other applications i've got running, if i minimized them they still occupy roughly the same amount of Mem.
Now this says to me that maybe (I'm not saying it is!) the graphics rendering engine in EvE is caching all graphics displayed, hence the long loads entering deadspace or mission areas. But instead of clearing the cache, or graphics buffer, it loads new data all the time.
Would this sound about right to all of you?
Now the people that experience this... have you patched the client or downloaded the newest version of the client. I patched mine, now if this runs in common, CCP need to look at their patch engines and check it's not putting in the bug.
