New Countdown thingy starts 15min before dt... + A message every 5-10min that the server is closing down.. 6 popups telling me that the server is closing in 53 min.. 32min.. 14 min.. and so on.
Is all that really necesary?

Dear players, the servers are down for one hour each day for
maintenance and updates. The daily downtime will begin in 9
minutes at 11:00 GMT. The servers will be back up again one hour
later. Please make sure your characters are out of harms way
before the servers close.

Nah goth its been turbo charged, constant on screen msg of the time left, pop up msgs twice as normal lol. Guess no one can complain they didnt know now heh.

As I said in the other replica thread about this issue, I think modal dialogs are incredibly annoying, especially if they steal focus and you HAVE to respond to them. A message in local with a defined colour/font is all that's required. Most people keep an eye on local anyway, so not much cognitive burden or UI annoyance there at all.

How useful is it to get a message every 5 min for 1 hour telling you that dt is x min away???
+ 15 min before DT a countdown timer pops up in the middle of the screen?
Thats 12 messages in 1 hour!
If you need 12 messages + coundown timer to understand that dt is not far away, you seriously need somekinda help.
Its very annyoing.. How am i supposed to pvp with a message popping up all the time huh?

I agree, it is annoying. It would be better to have the countdown in a corner, maybe up near where the agression timer is.
@Goth: You posted the same message in multiple threads, and infact you are wrong. This is a new thing, and today is the first I've seen it. This is on top of the old one that came up 1hr before DT.

not sure which of the 4 post to reply to, so here goes on this one.
Whatever anyone says, the DT message has gone into overdrive today.
Not only do we now have an on screen countdown timer, which I like btw, but we also have popups at 1hr, 1/2hr 15min, 10min and 5min.
The popups are way too much, they grab focus and disable everything until you respond. Please get rid of these, the usual 1hr message plus the on-screen is enough.
If you are rushing to get safe, the last thing you need is a load of excess popups to respond to..

Hmm, a bit too many message windows imho.
But the only thing that really astonished me was that I was really kicked out at 11:00 clock. I was heading to the last cans in a belt. Until today I was always kicked out at 11:01 and I need that minute to save the loot.

i agree the new warning system is a bit excessive,
if you are in teh middle of combat it could really hurt you
a 1 hr 45 mn 30 mn 15 mn 10 5 1 where just fine
and the counter is okay just start it later

I like the timer, but why center screen why not where the aggression time is ?. there are more places on the screen then the center of it. but the idea is great!, and lose the message box.. we have a counter now.

C'mon this is really really bad, put in a corner, do you really need all these threads and whining about it on the forums, can't you understand that this is very annoying and effects the gameplay considerable before you even put it on there / test it yourself 
c'mon guys like theres no PVP and pretty colors in the last 15 minutes before downtime, its blocking my view, its gameplay nerfing and its rediculous who places it in the middle !!!! and what is wrong with the pop-ups they are on amfetamines  
oh eh dont get me wrong, a timer is handy, but not in the middle of your screen

Have to say the timer countdown near middle of the screen is kind of annoying. I still do stuff in these last 15 min and it's annoying this countdown constantly stays on top of windows i'm working width 
If this stays I can live width it but just hope ccp maybe would be kind to move it i.e. to top of the screen after i.e. 15 seconds!!

if we must have the timer please reduce the pop ups to 1 at 1hr and 1 at 15min then the timer (no more popups) and the timer should be movable or closable (like another winow). Some of us can actually see the clock in the corner AND can also count (its so amazing isn't it) |

You know somthing, I once went on a 14 country junket. There is alot of neat stuff out there. maybe you all ought to look out side everyonce in awhile? This is only a game, and you should not play a game more then you play real life.
