Edited by: WhiskeyDP on 27/01/2006 18:29:01 i am(and have been since day 1 i started play eve) however an eveholic. just do the introduction missions and u will have about enough isk for ur first cruiser. took me about a week when i started playing to get my omen that costed me 5,5m and i had to travel more then 100 jumps to pick up the ship and some drones and miners.
5-6 weeks later i bought my first armageddon and was first in my corp that got one and back then it was actually an achievement to have a battleship. i know that not everyone play the game more then 2h per day, but for someone who does it its easy to make isk.
nowadays u have other things then mining to make isk from even. agent missions, deadspace(faction loot/bpc's) aso.
mining is a lot easier and more isk/per hour then back then. agent missions give u more isk/hour then back then(u did hardly get any reward at all earlier).
the game is more complex then ever but its also a lot easier to make isk today but in the end it comes down to how dedicated u are and what friends u make ingame(it is doable to do it solo tho).
edit: i mined for my stuff on my own despite being in a corp. as i said: in the end its all about how dedicated u are how fast u make the isk. it can take u a week to get a cruiser and 6 months to get a battleship, but it can also be a lot faster.. ==================

First of all, deflation is BAD for the economy. A healthy economy should show INFLATION because that shows people are putting money into things. When the demand goes up, prices go up, and the value of isk goes UP. So there may be more of it, but that's because INFLATION is doing it's thing! _________ siigarikitawa.com

That pretty much reflects my sentiment.
Most pilots aren't as rich as you apparently think they are. Last time CCP released stats about isk in wallets, it surprised everyone. ------------------------------------------- My life is the end of being. The temporal, actual end of thought and soul. |

"just do the introduction missions and u will have about enough isk for ur first cruiser."
If i recall right, the reward for introduction missions is +1 implant, and these sell for ~1 mil. Lowest tier cruiser (Osprey) costs ~3 mil on market + 450k for the cruiser skill.
That, and it's a one-time thing for starting character. It's not like they get free implants for sale every 2 hours of play...
"mining is a lot easier and more isk/per hour then back then. agent missions give u more isk/hour then back then(u did hardly get any reward at all earlier)."
I've been doing missions on and off since they were introduced, and that's a myth. Agent missions are being gradually nerfed in payments and rewards, mainly due to people crying about them being too easy cash source. (this is offset by occasional introductions of new cash incomes into missions, resulting in ~steady level of isk generated over time) You get more isk from killing a regular battleship spawn in 0.0 (5 min of play) than you get from doing 1-2 lvl.3 missions (up to hour play, sometimes more) Plus, these rewards are of course much lower for starting players who do lvl.1 and 2 missions, and don't have skills nor gear yet to chew through them fast.
Mining might be easier for high level characters able to utilize high level skills and gear, but this has little impact on mining abilities for low level players.
Overall, not really buying into this whole "omg nubs are swimming in cash now" thing...

<--- An example of a poor player... After played around 3 months, I don't have the cash to buy, insure, and properly fitted a BS yet . I'm slow in collecting cash. --------- Please reduce your signature radius to be below 24.000 bytes - Jacques' Right, after I train my inty to lvl 5

Cash flow for new players certainly isn't awesome. If you do courier missions it is downright pitiful. I do mostly combat missions and I'll have just enough ISK for my Battle Cruiser about the time that my corp faction is good enough for a decent level 3 agent. If I loose any cruisers before then it will take a bit longer. It was the same when I went to cruisers. About the time I had enough faction for a decent level 2 agent is when I had enough ISK for my first cruiser. Of course I trashed a couple cruisers learning L2 missions so that set me back a few million ISK.
I'd say that for new players going the combat mission route, ISK gain is just about where it should be.

The fact that the market and commodity prices fluctuate is a sign of the fact that we have a truly dynamic player driven economy which is a very good thing.
If you cared to analyse it I am sure some of the mineral flow in empire is directly affected by what some of the major alliances (who have access to the lion's share of high end minerals) are all up to at the moment. Prices for Zydrine and Megacyte always skyrocket when there is full scale war in the outer regions, conversely they always come down when there are periods of relative quiet.
Prices for basic commodities, as evidenced by the price of Battleships in empire (which has previously been stated is always a very good barometer for the current state of the mineral market), are well within the normal cycle of highs and lows that we have seen in Eve over the last 3 years.
No need to panic yet.
