Can L3 kill missions be done in a Cruiser? (i.e. Thorax) And if yes what is the best fit for such a task.

Some level 3 missions can be done in a cruiser. Flying for the Gallente Federation Navy a couple of doable ones that spring to mind include Duo of Death, Serpentis Spies and Retribution (sometimes).
Tougher level 3 missions like Black Market Hub, Portal to War and The Missing Reporters would probably end badly for a cruiser or be extremely challenging.
Silence the Informant I'm not sure about, as I managed this pre-RmR in a Thorax but have not tried it since.
Personally I would recommend doing level 3 missions in a Brutix until you're familiar with their difficulties and then trying some in a Thorax. Its fun and the missions go by a lot faster.
I use the following set-up.
x2 Heavy Electron Blaster
x2 Heavy Ion Blaster
x1 Med Nos
x1 Webifier
x1 Cap Recharger
x1 T2 10MWAb
x1 400mm Nano Plate
x1 T2 Med Repper
x1 Mag Stab
x1 Rat Specific Hardeners or Adaptive Nanos.
For missions that are non-deadspace, try switching out the Ions for Electron blasters and then squeezing a MWD into the fitting.

I tried level 3's for a while in the Thorax fitted with regulated ion's, then I got webed and scrambled in an Angel mission.
So I bought a Vigilant BPC, built it with left over materials and money I had made running level 2's. I tried running level 3's with the vigilant because of the 4th mid slot and the +25% hybrid bonus. Then I got web and scrambled in an Angel mission.
So I thought, hmmm...I need some speed and some nice hard hitting frig guns to kill those stupid Angel webers. So I tried some level 3's in an Enyo.
Then I got web and scrambled in an Angel mission.
So I figured I would change directions and opted for a massive tank, with a great set of guns, a very nice amror repair bouns by going with the Brutix.
My first angel mission just became available last night after running 3-4 Serp level 3 missions. I'm going to run it tonight instead of doing it late last night, I wanted to do a little reading about what to expect before I go in.
Its the "Angel Extrav" mission.
Seriously though...I should be okay, I figure if they are close enough to web and scramble they are close enough to die. The only things that really worry me are the missile *****s and the fact that the Angels do all three types of damage. |
