100% agree with the OP and the 7.5k guy!
problem is how would they remove the bookmark thing around gates and stations? no bookmark zone for 300k around gates and stations? except for the station and gate itself ofc. how would this be implemented? is it possible to do it without major changes? im not using instas because of 3 things, i consider them a cheat, i got a mwd and a brain how to use it, and the amount of extra clicking isnt healthy for anyone except 12 year olds that needs some extra meat on their skinny fingers.. 
its an unfair advantage others have over me in pvp sure, they got a extra med slot, they can catch me like nothing, they can suprice at gates by getting extremely close to me in 0.1 seconds, they can instant dock like cowards and more.. i want fair pvp fights and thats why i love eve! i can have fair and extremely fun fights, even if i loose the thrill is far greater then in any other mmo, but sometimes you get the insta ****, and the NOS mini fleets sucking you dry.. i have excepted this but the topic comes up so often and i need to put my view on it 
CCP might aswell allow ppl to speedhack, its the same thing to me. its a space game and instas isnt how its meant to be played.. but since the insta users are so whiny CCP should meet us half way and do something like the OP suggested ;) ppl jumping around the galaxy like nothing in no time at all doesnt fit a space game! space is huge and slow, we got afterburners, MWD and other mods, use them like i do and play the game the way its supposed to
instas are a biproduct of the bookmark feature, it gives unfair advantage to those that doesnt want to use what they consider a bug and cheat or flaw in the game.
I dont like the idea of skillbooks, because eventualy everyone will have the skill maxed and how fun will that be? it will suck and the great pvp feeling in eve will be gone as you will be pretty much safe everywhere.. same thing with a mod.
instas are for carebears that cant handle the real pvp, they should use the gamefeatures instead of that bug, a MWD and stabs just as good and not a biproduct
