I know about the armageddon, but this isn't a thread about it, please do not say: Buy a geddon.
Anyway not much has happend to this nice ship, but what to use in pvp fleet setup Mega Beams or tachs ?
And I've been fiddling around with a closerange NOS Setup:
4x dual mega beams, 4xNOS AB, Scrambler, Web and a Cap injector 2x L.A.R 3xHardners 1x CPU, 1xPDU
Any suggestions would be much appriciated.
Cheers

beams and tachs are in the same class, long range.
fleet setup would be
6 tachs/ (8 mega beams + rcu t2) 2 sb/2 tracking comps 3 hs2/2 tracking links/1 rep/ pdu-rcu whatever.
close range solo setup. if u can fit all that without cpu problems 4 nos/ 4 dual hvy pulse web/scram/mwd/cap injector 2 l rep, 3 hardner/ relays/pdu/rcu to fit it all.
pulse has higher tracking, faster rof and very close range, MF rystal would get u a 12-15km optimal.
no such thing as dual mega beam

like Shai said: Pulse for close, Beam for far, Tachs for the best range/DPS (but you will need a fair number of skills to fit a bunch of them).
Web, NoS, and tank as usual.

4 * Dual Heavy Pulse IIs 4 * Heavy Nosferatus
Med
1 * AB II 1 * 20Km Scrambler 1 * Webifier 1 * Heavy Cap Injector w/ 800s
Low
2 * L Armour Rep II 3 * Hardeners 1 * 1600mm 1 * CoPro II
And drones ofc.
Insert alot of named stuff to get this to fit.
Use tachs as they will do better DPS and have more range.
Cheers mate

how about
8 T2 Tachs 2 Sensor booster II, 2 Tracking Comp 3 HS II, 2 RCU I, 1 PDU (cant fit t2 rcu's yet) and a 1600mm plate in the last low.
Just about fits with adv. weapons upgrades 5 and a -3% to turret CPU Aug.

Haven't used my Tach II's in a long time, but with Aroura ammo they might be onto something :> Just remember to pack tracking comps/enhancers!
Short Range I just came up with this yesterday, still tweaking.
4x named Nos, 4x dual heavy Beam 100mn AB, Sensobooster II, prototype radar, 20km scramble 2x Large repair, 3x t2 hardners, 1600 rolled, Co-processor II
Now I think I can even switch the dual Heavy pulses for Mega Pulses if I get all diminishings... I also have the -3% cpu implant.. For God, Empire, and Sarum! |

Edited by: Jim Steele on 13/02/2006 20:01:42 looks like a fairly solid short range setup isnt most fleet stuff done at long range though?

Edited by: WiseMagic on 15/02/2006 11:51:09 I use a Navy Apoc in PvP,
6x Tach II, 2x missile launcher 2x SB, 2x Tracking Comp lrg armor rep t2, 3x heatsink2, 2x PDU2, 1600mm rolled thungsten, cap relay
T2 Crystals (Aurora L) gives me an optimal range of around 180km can hit out to about 210km for big dmg
can stay outa sentrz range in empire YARRRR

Edited by: Brigar Starcleaver on 23/02/2006 18:37:53 k well as fleet battles are usually 100km + and insta dmg ftw - this is my setup....
7 T2 Tachyons
3 T2 Sensorboosters 1 T2 Tracking Comp
1 T2 Large Rep 2 RCUs 3 Heatsinks 1 1600 plate
this is pure evil in fleets, the damage is insane !
Use Aurora for long range and Gleam for short, and yes as ur in a fleet u wont be hitting anything smaller than a BS for the majority of the fight so tracking isnt an issue.
Example hit of this setup in action using Gleam crystals
2006.02.17 16:21:04 Your Tachyon Beam Laser II perfectly strikes Minmatar Control Tower [RUA]RED(Minmatar Control Tower), wrecking for 1834.5 damage.
(BTW i have large beam spec 5 for that extra dmg ;) )
EDIT - 8 tachyons ftl tbh, cap usage and fitting reqs too much

I like 8 tach IIs for fleet, higher alpha (which is all concentrated fleet fire is about anyway). Fleet battles where you run out of cap from firing your guns are few and far between. Granted, fitting is a *****, but it's not like going from large rep II to a med rep II is going to save you if you are primary - the repper is mostly for after the battle (ie, if you have to warp).

I fully agree whit what you said. And I find that I like the apoc for fleets over the arma. Mainly becus of the abillity to change from close to long range combat. Tanking it will not really help that much. It's that alpha strike that matters and getting the shot in. Cap in the end shouldn't be consentrated and I whould never fit a reppie for a fleet fight. waste of good space. And helps a lot on the cap. I use to say cap is life, but I won't be that catigorical now. If you find you need to fit a stab on I say get rid of your stab and get rid of your commander. If you feel you need stabs to get out alive the FC is doing his warfare tactics wrongly. What the VI guy is doing here wrongly is that he focus on the reppie to save him the extra seconds to get out alive. But he fails to see the cap need. And the dps that whould be soaked up from adaptives on the 10k armor is much higher than the one or two rep cycles. However. If I know I'm going to close combat and not long range. I whould defenetly take the arma. The ROF bonus is just such a huge killer over the apoc. My thoughs

OK then.. So does anyone have any megapulse 2 set-ups for an apoc? I was thinking maybe Hi Slot: 6 megapulse II (conflag ammo), 2 Knave Heavy nos
Medium Slot: Sensor Boost II, ECM Radar, Cap Recharge II, J5 Warp Scramb (Or whichever the 20k J series scram is called)
Low Slot: Large Armor Rep II, Armor Hardener's (Kinetic, Thermal, Explosive, Nano Plate, Heat Sink II, Heat Sink II

Not tried this setup yet, but I am thinking along the lines of decapping the opponent;
4 Pulse II, 1 Energy Destabilizer, 3 Heavy NOS
20km scramble, webber, cap recharger, cap booster w/800
3 hardeners, 2 x large repairer, 2 x RCU II
Hope enemy ships don't have more Heavy NOS than you and they should run out of cap pretty quickly.

I am thinking about this solo or small fleet setup: 5 x Dual heavy pulse T2 2 x Heavy Nos T1 1 x Energy neutr named
1 x 100mwd 1 x X5 web/20km scrambl 1 x named Cap booster 1 x multi jammer T2
2 x Large armor rep T2 1 x 1600mm stell T2 1 x Energiz adap nano memb T2 1 x named cpu enchanter 1 x Heat sink T2 1 x CPR
Drones: medium T2

For a close range apoc setup cap=your life:
Hi Slots: 6x Mega Modulated Pulses (or T2 if you can use), 2x SBs for drones and tacklers
Mids: 4x named/t2/faction cap rechargers
Low Slots: 2x LAR, 3x Hardners (Kin, Therm, Expl), 1x Cap Relay, 1x Adaptive Nano
The key to this is train your skills! With Armor compensation skills trained you can easily have 75% + resists to all. Train amarr bs skill and all the cap engineering skills and you can maintain one repper and 6 multifreq fitted pulses indefinately, hold up against nos, and can use the second repper for a long time. WTB: Apoc with 8 low slots.
Same thing happened in a prophecy thread, someone didn't know how many slots the ship had. Probably an honest mistake, but that's why its good to check your posts.
Moving on: I just got an apoc and am still in the process of getting large lasers (go ahead and laugh, but i'm sticking to l3 missions for now. It's my uber-prophecy). My setup is:
7x Heavy lasers 1x tractor beam (cuz i'm lazy)
1x 100MN ABI 2x webber 1x sensor booster
1x large rep 3x hardeners (thermal, kinetic, explosive) 1x HS 2x CPR
I have no plans for using this setup longer than the next few days, but I just wanted to comment that my cap ran out with frickin medium lasers (everything but the AB running), and frankly it makes me wonder how it works with the large lasers. FFS, I had to warp out of an l3 mission cuz I ran outta cap and couldnt repair. Do you just suck it up as far as cap usage, or is there something I don't know?

Edited by: Byzan Zwyth on 06/10/2006 00:46:45 well the ships bonus is for large lasers, so with medium lasers you take the full hit of cap usage. although med lasers like heavy beam use less cap per shot than large they fire faster.
I did the same, fitted heavy beam lasers (med size) on my apoc for lvl3 missions. With 7 of them blasting away my cap goes down to ~50% pretty fast.
I trained large energy turrets to lvl1 and fitted 4 model tac's and everything worked a lot better ---------------------- I fly Amarr and Gallente ships Amarr because they peow peow and look cool... Gallente because they are effective |

AC have good faloff but you still need a mwd. Especially since you have 2 very shortranged remote reps and its handy for getting out of bubbles. I would go 1600mm + DCU 2. Not sure if that will free enough PG to fit a mwd. _________________________________________________ Breetime
