Edited by: Wrayeth on 28/01/2006 22:55:18 If links to killboards or killmails were allowed here I'd post two assault frigs killed by a raven with javelin torpedos and another killed by a tempest at 40km with EMP ammo in 1400 II's. There was a fourth that I didn't get the final blow on that was killed with dual-650's...oh, wait, no...that was an interceptor.
You've just got to be set up to deal with the little guys, or arrange circumstances so their transversal is nonexistant (90% web + nos helps; alternately, web drones + nos).
EDIT: And drones, for your turret boat. -Wrayeth

I've been kicking ass at solo PvP (in battleships) since RMR. You might want to think about ditching the old setups, since RMR invalidated many of them. -Wrayeth

Why do people post when they cant even fit what they are talking about.I fought a wolf in a raven fired 8 volleys of precesion cruise missiles at it His armor remained at 50%.
Damage mods, nos, and web drones are your friend. Even without the damage mods and nos I'd think your damage output with precision cruise ought to be able to deal with an AF.
In any case, you may want to rethink your setup. A PDU-based raven is no longer the way to go. -Wrayeth

Um...you are aware that an AC tempest is very similar to a blasterthron, right? And that it has worse tracking?
Here's a little code you may want to try: clue++; -Wrayeth

Generalizations are bad, mmkay? Dominix pwns, ravens pwn, and even AC tempests and blasterthrons can pwn if set up properly and used correctly.
I was getting shot at by a BoB harpy, hawk, and malediction...AND the sentry guns, and they all left in pods. EDIT: Except the sentry guns, of course. -Wrayeth

Hardly. I had exactly 1 amp on there, an XL C5L booster (CPU issues, couldn't fit tech II), and two invulnerability field II's, as well as a heavy electrochem cap injector and a 20km scrambler (and 3 heavy web drones).
Cap booster 800's are your friend - learn it.
EDIT: BTW, the enemy pilots weren't noobs...unless you call KSU Druid, Galavet, and Zardock noobs, anyway. -Wrayeth

Originally by: Ginger Magician The reason I solo pvp is because I like the challenge. Its not because I dont have any ingame friends either amazingly enough
Killing and surviving engagements against superior numbers is a real rush.Recently I joined some old friends of mine in hunting in 0.0 space in a small gang. For me it was the height of boredom even though we killed about 5 bs because there was no challenge - with scouts u always knew exactly the numbers and type of the enemy and u always warp in at optimal range.Whether I had been with them or not would have made no difference to the encounters that evening.Ofc there are many players in EVE who prefer unchallenging pvp and play like this all the time and then proclaim themselves as uber pvpers on forums and killboards whilst never fighting even odds.Mercenary Coaliton anyone:) I find it a shame that CCP seems intent on making solo play so difficult. While I still love EVE unless there is some change in direction in the next few patches I think it may be time to look for the next big thing.
Oddly enough, I do agree with a number of points you make in this post. I enjoy solo PvP in a battleship, myself, but disagree with your premise that you can't deal with the little guy. It's all about the proper fitting and tactics.
As for being the only person to solo kill a battleship, well...just...lol -Wrayeth

I don't think he has any "stuff" left - he lost it all to invulnerable assault frigates. -Wrayeth
