I currently hit advanced memory level 3 and was wondering if I am making the right choice to get advanced 3 in 4 attributes (all but charisma).
I know it takes over 3 years to payoff getting advanced level 5 in all attributes and I was wondering how long it took to pay off advanced 3 in 4 of the attributes (not cha).

Takes somewhere between 6-9 months for that kind of training to really pay off I think. Depending on how specialized your training is and where you want to go in the game, it might pay off sooner on a subjective level. It's definitely worth it IMO. ____________________

Getting all advanced learning to IV will payoff within a year. The long payoff for lv V is because you devote so many SP for only +1 to the attribute. -- Originally by: Nyphur The irony is astounding. The sheer level of raw irony here is enough to iron my clothes for a year.

What I have thought about doing now is getting my Intellegence, Perception, and Memory up to advanced level 3 and leaving my Willpower at level 4 since there are hardly any primary Willpower skills. Do you think this type of training would be payed off within a few months?

That's a valid path to take. The payoff time for skills really depends on how much training you do with their attribute. If you're primarily a researcher/builder then you really don't need advanced per/wil skills much at all. On the other hand, if you're mainly a fighter, advanced per/wil are more useful, I would also advise int for fighters since many support skills are int primary.
So, if you train advanced Per/Int/Mem to III and train Per/Int/Mem related skills, I would say they would reach breakeven within 3-4 months.
Edit: Or you could be like me and train them all to V (yes, even adv. charisma). I estimate mathematical breakeven in early 2009 -- Originally by: Nyphur The irony is astounding. The sheer level of raw irony here is enough to iron my clothes for a year.

You can look at it in raw SP terms - in which case yes it takes a long time to pay off (I did them all to adv lvl4 and every new char I create doesn't undock until he has that).
But how about this - do you know every skill you'll be training for the next 12 months? Nah, not really - you'll be flying along, get raped by a ceptor and think danged, I want me one of them.
Then you gotta go learn skills for this new toy - the fact you have advanced learning skills means you can get to that quicker.
Unless your playing with a load of people starting at the same time you won't really notice how far along you are, all you notice is how long it takes to your next toy :)
