Originally by: Vistilantus since you can replicate this bug easily, i would reccomend running the logserver and capturing what happens at the moment this bug occurs, send the log server off with a bug report (http://bugs.eve-online.com) and be as full and as concise as possible.
A bug report with a log file is (hopefullyÖ) much more likely to get looked at.
Goodluck,
Difficult to save those logs when the computer locks up though...
My computer locks up aswell occasionally (the screen goes black and I can still hear ts). Haven't been able to figure out why yet.

Scorpyn,
I used to get that. Occasionally, (days or a week, say) the screen would go black. But it appeared the PC will still running. I just could not see anything. I installed the latest video drivers and the problem appears (knock wood) to have gone away.
Regards,
Considering that teamspeak kept working (at least I could hear others, didn't try talking) I'd say that it's probably the same problem. Last time I got it was with the 6.1 catalyst drivers though, so updating the drivers didn't work in my case (and please don't suggest installing the 5.12 drivers, I'm pretty sure ati wouldn't enjoy the vpu recover report spamming to continue).
The last thing I've tried so far is to reduce the apg speed from 8x to 4x. I haven't crashed yet since, but the crashes are so rare that it's way too early to tell whether it worked as intended or not.

In my case, that actually made the problems increase.

Been there done that (including a full os reinstall).
The omega drivers use the same binaries as the catalyst drivers anyway, they are just pretweaked differently.

im sorry to be blunt but when it happens to 4+people ALL at the same time its not drivers, and it wasnt lag as the ships were destroyed by enemys
If they were at the same place at the same time with similar hardware then it might still be a driver issue.

Originally by: Tachy Or a local server node hickup, maybe even caused by a bug on the server siftware.
Even if there is a bug that causes the client to go black, ctrl-alt-delete should still work, which is not the case here. Making that happen by a server side bug is not one of the first few hundred things I'd suspect, but might still be somewhat possible if there is both a clientside and a serverside bug working together (such as an unprotected buffer somewhere).

Actually last time I got it I was alone and cloaked on a ss getting ready to log off, so it's not combat related (I was in a gang but afaik none of the others in the gang had any problems or were fighting at the time).
