All these SWG immigrants are stealing our jobs, T2 BPOs, creating lag, shooting our ships...
EVE was ours first! You understand !
So I say you guys have to bow to us, and call us "your illuminated highness", or we'll just have to start discriminating against you...
If anybody has any ideas on how to discriminate against ex-SWG players please post here
(yes this is a worthless alt who doesn't play ingame, and this is a stupid post, and pleas'e CCP don't ban me for posting this I was just joking)

I say we should ban them for having such long names that they break the tables!
other then that: lightsabers are cool. Big ships are also cool. Chuck Norris > Darth Vader.

This is kind of a dumb thread, but it reminded me of the conversation I had with a rather disgruntled former SWG player, who had recently come to EVE.
The fellow had spent the better part of 2 years playing SWG and then one day, it's all gone. Changed to a "action" game.
Felt kind of bad for him thinking what I would feel like if EVE changed overnight into HALO-2 in space.
So I warned him that EVE was definately not Ewoks, and Jedi. That our world is much more harsh and the enemies less defined. I wished him well and hoped he would take to EVE. As the learning curve here, is a bit more like a learning cliff. Eve is a very complex game, and it is overwhelming in the beginning. Just think back to your own rookie ship time, and first few weeks.
I think well for all the SWG immigrants who have joined as it is certain that many will not last.
No need to prejustice them, anymore so than the Earth & Beyond refugees, of whom that remain are likely powerful and productive characters now.

Quick! Back to the pile! Lets send them all back to Gallene Prime where they belong! Funny quotes:

Which is why its critical to get them in a good corp. My corp has been aiding a SWG guild and some of their friends that basically just transplanted in their entirety over here. The critical thing is having friends and people that know whats going on in the game. A lot of people didn't get much of that when starting the game.
One last quick comment: Earth and Beyond was perhaps the biggest carebear game ever (no pvp!) and some of the most powerful 0.0 corps in Eve are run by players that came over from EnB.

This is a very important point (not because it refers to my corp among others), but because much of the success of former EnB players comes from their sticking together and helping each other learn the game. CLS and corps like THEMM and others saw hundreds, maybe even thousands of players through the learning process of Eve, and though many of them have now left CLS, and THEMM is no more, most of them are still playing Eve and loving it (and doing fantastically well).
So I encourage the SWG refugees to stick together with their corp mates and find former SWG players who have their own corps. This will greatly facilitate their transition and hopefully lessen the numbers of repetative "How do I do this?" threads that have been sprouting up.

South Park episode. linkage
The future world is very crappy, with massive poverty. All races and languages have melded into one. An enterprising future person comes back in time to South Park, and works for $0.25 an hour. Because of compound intrest, his future family is well off. He took over Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny's show-shoveling route. The kids start complaining "They took our jobs!"
The sucess of the first time-traveler leads to a massive influx of people from the future who take over every low-paying job in town. "They took our jobs" starts to become more stylized. The higher-paying people in town like it, because they get stuff cheap. More future people come, and start taking the higher-paying jobs. "They took our jobs" becomes even more stylized.
The townsfolk decide to fight back, and ensure that there is no future, so that the "Goobacks" can't come back in time to take their jobs. So they start a massive homosexual orgy pile, to turn themselves ***.
It's a rather funny epoisode, that isn't funny at all when someone just describes it in text....like this post.
