So far I see one serious bid, one pathetic attempt by someone to give their life value, and several jokes. The average earning potential of a capsuleer in high security space is around forty million ISK in an hour. In null security space that increases to around two hundred million ISK per hour. Payments to the militia can vary widely, but can be around two hundred million as well, although average would be one hundred million per hour. Industry income is not nearly as high, but has the advantage of being 'fire and forget.' Profits from industry for a pilot skilled in manufacture are around two hundred million ISK in a twenty four hour period. The last method of income, station trading, from what I can tell, involves black magic. Those successful at it are fantastically wealthy. The point is, if you are going to bid to spend a couple of hours with someone, lowballing that number serves to insult them. I know I would be if someone only valued my time at twelve and a half million ISK per hour. To that end, I will put in bids of two hundred million ISK for each pilot listed, with the exception of Ms. Lianne. While it would be interesting to see if I can beat Mr. Ellis, I am not going to try out of fear that I can. In addition to keeping my 200m ISK bit on all except Ms. Lianne, I will increas my bids to 500m on Ms. Aspenstar and 500m on Mr. Shutaq. Should I win, I would like to make arrangements for another night than the party, even if I do wind up attending. Separate evenings, of course. As for the bidding, it happens here, on the IGS over the next several days so that everyone has a chance to get in on the fun.
Given the rogues gallery of bidders on me, I think I best frame expectations. The winning bidder will get to enjoy a relaxing evening listening to Amarr devotional religious poetry while enjoying wine, cheese and fruits in the floral Gardens of the Little Sisters of the Most Holy Sword Abbey located on Sarum Prime. Gossip, stories and kind words meant to inflate your self-esteem will also be provided. It seems that I have bid for the time of two poets. Regardless, I am not going to retract my bid. Lunarisse Aspenstar wrote:Anslo wrote:Why should Vea's even be considered given its reputation? Anslo, The reputations of Null-sec capsuleers are out of my purview, but it's very simple as I see it. If potential bidders feel Ms. Vea is not going to honor her bids for whatever reason and are willing to risk losing, then can use her bids as a ceiling and bid up to it given that the rules provide that if the primary bidder doesn't pay, it goes to the 2nd highest bid. That being said, the safest course is of course to place a winning bid. So using that biddiing strategy the ceiling for Sir Shutaq and I is 500 million isk, and the ceiling for the others that have not yet been exceeded (Kat is one due to a 225 million isk) is 200 million isk. Oh dear, and it means Anslo is the current second bidder for me! I will honor my bids. If the organizers are willing to use, and pay for, a reputable third party escrow service, e.g. Chribba of The Mittani, I will be happy to put the amount in escrow within the next twenty four hours.

Without knowing these, its obvious this charity event is simply there to line some pockets. I'm quite amused to see people willingly throwing billion of ISK away like this. The phrase 'you cannot always get what you want' becomes less true the wealthier one is. So far the total value of my bids is less than two day's worth of income. I'm guessing Nation, in addition to being morally bankrupt, is financially bankrupt as well? As for the end destination of the funds, I am assuming that most of it will go towards the purchase of ships and equipment to fight the Minmatar. Shalee Lianne wrote:I assure you nothing is staged. My goal for the auction, total, was five billion. We've surpassed that by a great sum and I am thrilled and and somewhat humbled by their bidding.
Since the sums are so high at this point, I feel guilty for only giving one date. I will give four to the winner. And if there are any more bids beyond these last, I will offer one date per every extra billion.
Thank you guys for being so generous. I mean more of Tigerfish finding money behind the sofa. Editor: TheMittani.com -á If you are going anywhere else to get your Eve News, you are wrong.

Tahir Altol wrote:Lunarisse, when you mentioned this auction to me, I thought it was a hypothetical, In fact you phrased it in exactly those words. You weren't trying to be evasive were you?
While I have no idea who the top bidder on you is anymore, the Angel, the Pirate or the Goonswarm pilot, I hereby place a bid on the Flower of Nayheen and the Rose of Sarum Prime, the fair Lunarisse Aspenstar in the amount of 600 million isk.
Such things I have to do for my Lady. We SHALL talk later I am sure! I have withdrawn my bid for Ms. Aspenstar. The top bid for her is Anslol, although, Mr. Price will undoubtedly top that. The bid you have to beat is 105m. Perhaps you will be more appealing to her, given your True Amarr heritage. Ariel Marquette wrote:Thank you very much. Funds have been transferred to your corporate account in separate transactions for each winning bid. Again, I apologize for being pushy; I have pressing issues all day tomorrow.
In following this thread, I found that what should have been fun for many turned into a fair bit of pettiness from some. I hope to rectify that by allocating my dates to people whose company I presume they will enjoy.
Aldrith Shutaq, it is only fitting that you should attend the event with your wife. If she should decline, then consider yourself free to spend your time as you please.
Katerina Tzestu, I noticed that Mr. Krennel was quite agitated that he was paying for a date with his own girlfriend. Please spend the evening with him and, if you value him, remember to consider his feelings next time.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to win an evening with Cardinal Graelyn. I imagine his stories would have been truly entertaining.
As for the bid on Ms. Lianne, I had hoped to settle the pettiness between Mr. Ellis and Mr. Torpedo by outbidding them both. Congratulations to the winner. Both of you, however, have acted like immature boys. Perhaps if either of you showed Ms. Lianne how valuable she is to you with your hearts, you might not have to try to do so with your wallets. As a Goon, I can not help but admire how you destroyed the spirit of the auction and screwed over most other bidders. I congratulate you on that.
In addition, it's amazingly easy how this process could have been corrupted. Had I been willing to do so, I could have won everyone, with the exception of Ms. Lianne, with merely my 200m isk bid. Editor: TheMittani.com -á If you are going anywhere else to get your Eve News, you are wrong.

You miss the point. Ms. Lianne was counting on that. It was genius pitting those two against each other. She walked away with a lot more money than she would have otherwise. You need to crank your cynicism meter up a few notches. Editor: TheMittani.com -á If you are going anywhere else to get your Eve News, you are wrong.
