Hehe I'm not in a condition to play Eve atm, not for a long while still, and my account ends in less than a month too, which I won't resub for at least a few months more, but I still sometimes check 'My Eve' on habit, and when I saw a new Prom video I had to watch it! So glad I did, What a video :-)
First I must say, your screen is very comfy to watch, all them tabs sorted nicely in the corner and see-through style, one gets to feel the overall sense of the battlefield really well in your videos, so much fun... I waited for the Eve-File DL as your vids are always so HQ its much better than YT. Kil2 always used to say that he tried to follow your video tips on how to achieve max quality standards, for a good reason.
Some amazing fights, so heavily outnumbered in a few, and simply making the better piloting decisions, achieving the best out of a 'bad' situation and winning the day. Your level of badass-ness does not go unnoticed :-) Made me laugh the way you MWD to loot the Cane and Wolf wrecks while getting bumped off gate in your Brutix and struggling between low armor and structure before jumping. And I loved the TD on the rats, while fighting the Raven! As well as just seeing your fits, and ammo in the tabs, using Javelin :-) ECCM on the Gnosis, jump routes with like 30 jumps remaining in your deep nullsec travels, synth boosters, and just generally nice to see all the small stuff that makes you own the field.
The answer you gave about the cap charges a few posts ago, how you try to conserve because you go into deep null and try to make the best out of every trip in terms of 'play time/effort vs # of fights' i.e. winning a fight then starting the next one with less than perfect conditions cargo-wise (and carrying maximum paste+cap for those long trips, to not start in bad mod conditions, but risking dying with 300 paste and 30 navy charges which sucks) and all sort of other small compromise... I think the more experienced pilots that view your videos throughout the years- can really get that feel. Its true, you put a lot of effort and time into what ends up as a great videos, and I can tell you its highly appreciated. People get it :-) And its important for a video maker to know that viewers get it. When I interviewed random (20+) pvpers for the solo article, on of the questions I asked some of them was to name a few solo inspirations, and you were probably the one they mentioned the most.
This video reminded me of something. In your 'Addiction' video, in the Sacrilege vs SFI+Phoon+cane fight, I remember watching it as I was just starting to get into PvP, and I looked at your cargo that was spread out on the bottom on the screen, with so many different ammo types and I was just though 'whoa... this guy knows his stuff' it was an immediate example of the kind of pilot I wanted to become. And you still show everything very clearly today, even more than ever, with the ammo and offline mods showing, it just makes your videos a lot of fun to watch. Plus it adds the 'rewatch' value big time. Also like you said your videos aren't tutorial style, but a pilot that really goes in PvP can still learn a lot from them. I always appreciated the 'blur' effect when you're jammed by the 'curse of Solo pilots' the horrid broken ECM drones, and the 'real' description of ships on field, if they're dead or just left grid.
Loved the Cereb fights, and the Vaga as well, actually I loved all the fights in this f'ing awesome video! This is even better than 'Addiction' an immediate all time favorite Prom video for me. Thanks for the effort of making it, and all the ones before as well. An interesting article about Solo PvP: http://themittani.com/features/new-eden-solo |
