Wow, that was crazy. Total no-mans land. Who else was there besides Snig? I checked once and saw 102 podkills in 24 hours. Lost a ship there, but fortunately not a pod.
I heard that UK cleared them out at one point, but they were back again later.

Amamake has always been a hell hole of pirate infestation. I suggest you just stay away from it -completely- lol. Unless you've got a Covert Ops ship, in which case be bloody careful.

I believe amamake generaly has bout 30 people in it, 5 new people, miners, ratters or whatever sitting in station, and 25 pirates running around looking for them. ------------

It was just us. I wasn't there the whole time but nobody said anything about getting cleared out by UK.

We camped it saturday night, sunday day and UK did break us up once then. But we were back sunday night. We had an insane ammount of kills this weekend. Our killboard has 20 kills on each page and i have to go back 31 pages to get to the 27th. ---- May the gods of piracy guide me to your belt... |

I popped through last night in a Rifter. What fun. :)
All that flashing red on the Ossogur gate...
The funny bit is my combat log showed one SNIGG trying to scramble another SNIGG. Someone musta clicked wrong or someone was bored. In either case, I got through just fine. Just goes to show that even a determined gatecamp is evadable. ==========

Hehehe Nice work guys. Truth be told Amamake has always been good for a fight if you want some garanteed PvP go there. If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared. Niccolo Machiavelli

Yeah, we had some fun this weekend. If you were in anything other than a frig/shuttle/pod... you had to get pretty lucky to make it out of there without an insta
We did, I believe, two 4 man camps, and both were broken up. But fun was had by all! Well....

Hehe, I was going through there with an alt of mine carrying an insane amount of Zyd, Mega and Overseer's effects worth about 50m. Man was I high on adrenaline when I first noticed the lag spiking and then all those corpses/cans .. oh and the SNIGG flashing red like mad on my overview...
Got out without a scratch though, and back through to Osoggur too. Thanks for waking me up though guys, it had been a long day and I was almost falling asleep back then. ____________________

We did break the S******dly camp once and it took them 2 hours to be back at full strength at the gate
There was another attempt to break it by a smaller U'K gang later during the night but that failed.
A funny thing though. I got bounty for killing Narciss Sevar and picked up the corpse but no killmail. Was that a bug? Or did you get yor pod out?

I can assure you that he wasn't afk at this moment.
And just to clarify, I did not intend to smack, flame or in any way discredit S******dly. They are really good at what they do.

Good for you Snigg. Makes the game interesting when there is real risk and clearly with that pod count there was some real risk.
When I passed through I got to see a nice blob of red flashing names at the Ossogur gate. Got to see my first corpse floating in space as well - I guess no one had picked it up? Fortunately I was not involved in your tally as I was one of the ones that drove up to the gate in a covops and just went thru at my leisure he he.

Best wishes on even more kills, Snigg. Waves to you guys as local exploded with people in my hunting grounds, near amamake. Roast them for me, since I won't be pirating too much this weekend. --------------

If you get a chance come by and check out the wall of corpses around the main warp in point. It appears that it can actually serve as a barrier to people approaching the gate.

The only problem i have is the use of "PvP" and "Gate camp" in the same sentence. PVP implies there are 2 sides to the fight, but in my experience 10+ pie-rats vs. 1 hauler is hardly PvP
When the pie-rats are faced with a similar size force, 99% of the time they run and hide. Kudos to those who decide to stay and fight.

Unfortunately 99% of "PvPers" run from an even fight. We typically do not unless things are overwhelmingly against us. _______________________________________________

Heh,
Its your god-given right to runaway as a pirate...
I have to actually credit Snig with completely changing the way I play now (for the better). I currently have "Kill Rights" on 6 of them (none of which I will ever act on) stemming from an event when I merrily warped to within 15km of the Osoggur gate about a week and a half ago in my brand new (and under-equipped) Rupture. I didn't even get to come out of warp before my computer pulled a BSOD (blue screen o' death) and after it rebooted and I logged back in I found myself in my home station, making use of my first clone.
Of course, I initially reacted with anger (gee... that was fair, etc). But then I came to realize just how much I learned from that one gank. I learned to always check the map for kills in the last hour... to use instas... to have safe points... to go to an unoccupied planet and use my scanner... to check EVERYONE in a system's security status before proceeding... to add Snigg pilots to my "Buddies" list (Hello... buddy... ).
I made a blockade running frigate built for complete speed with 2 WCS's and no guns... just to run valuable cargo past a camp. Let me tell you... when I blew past 4 campers with 3 650mm Prototype I Siege Cannons I had to go to Siseide to pick up, that was just a rush!
In short, that one gank made me a WAY better player... I was insured, had a clone... it was worth it. And I agree that the risk element makes it fantastic to travel through Amamake...
Keep up the good (okay... it's technically bad) work,
