LAMENTATION FOR THE LAME
There once was a group named Polaris Who said they'd do many things for us. They published a paper And took it down a day later Leaving pre-canned "events" to bore us.
"Bring it back!" the populace cried But their request was quickly denied. "No, Scope caused a schism And we fear criticism." Thus one more good thing in Eve died.

Thrak - ad-hoc patronage of non-conformist arts is indeed a great thing and to be commended. I'll gratefully receive your 3m isk should I fail to win the legitimate prize.
Particularly as I would use the winnings in the furtherance of my subversive arts. Here are a few ideas:
- a KLF style art event, where I load the cash it into a container and destroy it at a pre-ordained time / place.
- Container-based writing is SO last month. You've seen those "car stonehenge" things, where people replicate wiltshire's finest with abandoned vehicles. Well I propose to do likewise with cheap indi's in a hi-sec system. 3m should just about cover it, assuming I can buy enough ships on the market and people don't try and steal them until I have at least finished. |

Final Hit
A moa docks, day before retirement The pilot steps out, wanders in the halls Target destination located 'Kill all that dwell within', orders were clear The target lies silently Children in the adjacent room Memories of his own flood his mind So delicate, so innocent But this was work, emotion has no place He finishes his job, one last time

Alone on the throne my teeth do grit. I'm AFK so my cruiser she sits. I look around and grimace awhile. Pushing hard and widen my smile. Almost done the time is near. To return to play what I hold dear. A threat alert blips through the vapor. Quick! Wipe! ARGH no toilet paper! What is that? A target lock? Must hurry! Must use my sock!

Just wanted to share this Poem with you all.
Once within their fortresses tall Knights gathered, sans heavy armors; Shouts of laughter and chatter Filled the echoing halls with ardor.
Without was the dark, and the watchers; Those who guarded well the Stargates; The sector was well defended, inaccessable; They heard the sentinels' calls.
Ready in a moment to clash with Pirates or Bringers of Grief; The Honorable and Noble men teased loving women; Relaxed to enjoy these few, short moments Fortress of warmth, joy, and haven.
The Fortress looked so mighty To the traveler who stood without; These brave ones are our forefathers Of this there is no doubt.
So trace the bleakest picture Hold out your hand; and see A sword, and iron armor, and brave Knights Ride their genes into our destiny.
Once within the Fortresses tall, A sword, and iron armor, and brave Knights gave their all..in defence of the defensless and humble people....We are Few but we still ride into battle with glad hearts; Knowing that even if we fall we will be laid upon our shields and brought home in the Grateful Common mans carts. And this Trip is the Highest Honor that can be bestowed upon us.
They have us Surrounded again.. the Poor Bastards |

To war we go, to war it is, let us strike true, for future bliss.
Rotten souls, are those we seek, we are there, for enslaved and weak.
Behold the leason, they will learn, when ships go down, and they will burn.
Lets hope, that they will see the light, comming closer, after every fight.
Justice will prevail, while blood flows, but be warned, our army grows.

"In Light and in Pearl"
In bone and in ash we wander and lust Rebuilding a frame, guarded. Through force and Through fire, forged. Our iron, steele untainted.
In light and in pearl we cross, combine From walls built with frost, revived. Through force and Through fire, reforged. Our past pure, eclipsed.
From bone and from ash we cross, combine In building a frame, unguarded. In light And in pearl, renewed. Our faith, Trust unbroken.

BELLE OF A BILLION WOES
Warrior belle of a billion woes, Art thou a goddess or mortal beauty? Though Venus rules your face, Mars rules your heart. Even the stars quake beneath your ship's wake. As old gods die beneath your fierce embrace.
Fierce enchantress of a billion souls, Your wild eyes have captured my heart and soul, Though sovereign Amarr courses through your veins. The stars flicker beneath your wild, wild eyes. Sweet Jamyl, I am forever your slave. |

The Cold embrace of space slowly drifts by. As I peer out my porthole vision glass. Faintly are the echoes of those who died. Ring in my ears as the memories pass.
I Grimmace the thought of those who suffered. Fiery expressions seen in their eyes. Such strength such courage they must have mustered. All now are silent from the rebellions rise.
Who now will be next to risk their own life? Who now will die next for their brothers life?

Dear Mons. Warrior Poet,
I change word 'sovereign' to regal in poem. When choosing word sovereign, I pronounce it in its variant form of 'sovran' which is two syllables. I am sorry for the confusion in syllables so I replace it with word 'regal.'
Kindest regards, Lady Juliette

I tingled... Actually tingled reading some of these poems. Although I do disapprove of the restrictions placed on this competition, I gladly embrace it as a long waited taste of the arts in this new world we have all partaken of. If Sir Poet would be so kind as to accept my late entry...
The Clone Silent, I float, as the darkness seeps in, No engines ablaze now... Not a sound, My turrets, dormant, consumed by the void, I part my eyelids, and look around...
Confusion, it has me, my eyes... can't see... But sound, a voice... She whispers to me, "Welcome back, Sir. We thought you'd been lost" I cry, I scream, sweet anguish lays claim
For I know, I died, it toys with me still My mind lies heavy, and weak rests my will.

From beyond the neon-city wastelands comes a man with a darkened soul He rides on a dark cloud. For he's not the lamb anymore. For he's the lion now. For he's the punisher somehow.

Wow there are so many great poems. Im glad to see so many people contributing to the arts. I know it wont be easy for the judges. I think in my own opinion Alenia Swift's "Windsong of the Maurader" moved me the most. But that is only my own opinion.
I hope similar events like this are held.

Following much debate, criticism and scrutiny, a shortlist of ten candidates has been drawn up. The following entries will contest the prizes available:
Windsong of the Marauder û Alenia Swift Ode to a forgotten MWD û Jay Gatsby Untitled entry by Star Nove Destiny û Draaven Ore û Clystan Alone û Aerol Lamentation for the Lame û Caius Cassius Final Hit û Mjr Tom AFK Nightmare!!!!! û Rizmordan Hillgotlieb Belle of a Billion Woes û Juliette
The decision to shortlist these entries was not taken lightly and those who have not made the final ten should not feel disheartened û the differences between those who made the final cut and those who did not was quite often marginal.
The GAC thanks all those who have participated and will announce the winners on Tuesday. ~~~

Although I am clearly disappointed not to be shortlisted as part of the official competition, I did indeed receive my 3m isk and am delighted to receive from Thrak the inaugural and somewhat fitting ARSE trophy - a pair of golden buttocks on a plynth.
It'll take pride of place on my Iteron III's flight deck once I've cleared out the growing pile of moulding Quafe cans. |

The winners will not be announced until tomorrow, so I assume you must mean there is a discrepancy among those who have been shortlisted.
If this is the case, I would be grateful if you could point it out so appropriate steps can be taken. ~~~
