Originally by: Brem Watson I'm a newb at EVE (been playing for about a month) and decided to join a corp right away so I could get some mentoring from players that have been on longer. Boy was that a mistake!
First I want to say that I love the game.
Now on to the reason why I'm leaving. Our corp leader decides that he wants to make our corp into a PvP corp where we go out and try to bounty hunt. Dumb! dumb! dumb! The leader has been playing for a year so he has a good amount of cash and experience with PvPing but has no idea of what it takes to run a corp. Most people in the corp are newbs so the question stands as to why he is looking to PvP with a whole bunch of newbs? Another problem is that he has this ongoing war with a corp at our base. I don't know how it started but we all ended up losing ships due to it. I really didn't want to start this game with tarnishing my name so that when people see our corp name along with our player name, they would want to shoot at us. A few other members feel the same.
I know this is being soft but I was going to Evemail our opponents and tell them that I'm done with the war personally because I never had a problem with any of them anyway. Chances are our leader started some crap with them long before we joined by looting cans or something. He's known for that.
I want to have long lasting fun on this gamew and plan on playing it for years to come. I want to have fun now and with this war stuff going on, I can't. I head out to do missions and I'm being hunt. It's BS.
So this is why I'm leaving my corp.
If your leader hasn't taken into consideration the views of the corp he is not a leader. Eve is a game, and should be played for enjoyment. If the current situation you are in does not give you enjoyment, you are totally right to leave and make yourself a new situation. Nothing toapologise for, nothing to feel bad about. --------------------------------------------------

My 7.87 with Caldari Navy just barely exceeds your 7.68 with Imperial Armaments Overcopes 1. I need to crank up my missions before you catch me. Damn war gonna interfere though!

Lowa, I've been a part of online forums for a long time. There's smartazzes in every one of them and I know how to deal with them. Sometime people see that your new to their forum, they like to try to punk you. I'm hip to all of that nonsense.
Trust me guys, I wish I could play the game more than I do and I know I'll have to PvP even when I'm not thinking about it. I will and have shot at other players for going into my cans right in front of my eyes (that was fun).
It's not that I don't want to PvP, but just want to get to know the game and earn a lot of isk.
Uh huh and when the smart asses track you from corp to corp war deccing? Or arrange to have your entire corporations assets stolen? Don't anger the griefers.
I don't think you trust, in, my, self-righteous suicide. |

Sounds good. Probably the best you can do. Hope your enemies are nice and don't follow you with a wardecc, but let you get into the game a bit. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

No, some went to gank kia too :). I think they were very successful at that, by all the flames we get.
Anyway if my posts look like trolling, then meh. I didn't want to troll, just maybe tried to give the guy a different point of view on whole matter. As i said, good luck whatever you do next.
I have no idea why on earth you dragged your obsession with KIA into this thread but as you have done so....
Given your idea of success you must set yourself very low goals and still fail to achieve them.
As I've mentioned before the only place I have ever seen you is talking **** on these forums, or harping on about the only occasion PA managed to kill more than 1 KIA ship at a time. Even that took place several months ago and as far as I know you weren't even there.
PA have lost upwards of 150 ships to KIA these last 10 days or so and killed about 20. (NBSI Kills and losses not included here). If you consider that to be successful it is not suprising that F-E have decided they would be better off without you.
My apologies to the OP for the OT content. ______________

I'm not going to hold my opinions because you feel I'll get griefed. Anyone in this forum or game can get griefed so what's your point?

erm point is not to particularly upset them, as becoming a sought after target is far worse than bieing randomly greifed

Edited by: Brem Watson on 03/02/2006 13:59:58 What a waste of time someone would have if they decided to grief me. I'm sure most people will find other things in the game to be more important than me.
Well, the purpose of my thread was to just put our story out there to get some logical feedback. Thanks for the responses.

It sounds like your CEO didn't take into account the wishes of his corp or set the corp up in a way that facilitates the PVP lifestyle. For example if he wants you guys to help him pvp then he can teach you the basics, get you all on TS and the corp makes t1 ships, ammo, mods and insures them so all someone has to do when they loose a ship is come to base, dock and grab another to go out in.
I find if you take away the pain of loosing ships and equipment then poor pvpers can get over the learning curve to be ok ones without going through the isk trauma that puts a lot of people off. To be honest the fun time for me is in a group, small or large and fighting an even group in terms of capability and getting stuck in there, rather than give up why not speak to your ceo about how the corp can support its members more.

Check this out.......
The CEO put himself into a seriously low security status and it got to the point where he couldn't even come back into your region to dock at our base. Then he tries to keep the war going with a character he made to tide him over until he got another alt that was supposed to be an even trade with another EVE member. That member never swapped alts with our CEO and that's a whole other story in itself.
My bud became acting CEO until the whole alt tradeoff could be resolved. By bud pulled the CEO into a private chat to let him know that he was leaving the corp because of the direction the corp is going and the CEO just said, "Whatever...", got upset and closed the window. He wasn't to mature about the whole thing. I figured he would be cool about it and keep ties with us but that's not going to happen. Frankly, I could care less but the guys kept saying, "I'll feel bad about us leaving him like this so we should at least say goodbye to him."
All in all, talking to the CEO didn't go well.

If you want a bad reputation, then thats the way to do it.
Being a PvPer improves your reputation it doesnt hurt it.
thats BS, just cos u dont pvp doesnt mean u have a bad reputation, what about naga? one of the most respected corps in eve and theyre not respected for kicking loads of ass, theyre respected for their industrial capability, theres nothing wrong with being an industrialist. ---

If it wasn't for the PA troll in this thread, you'd certainly have given the worst advice so far. Thankfully, LukeC's idiotic comments push your nonsensical ramblings into second place.

Your CEO does sound like he doesn't care one little bit about his corpmates.
You definitely are far better off without him. Best of luck in the new corp!
