Considering another titan ability, it can be "cyno field, YEAH! let's bring in our 40 apoc's to camp the cyno field till the dreadnaught jumps in, OOPS, they just jumped an entire fleet through, *pwn pwn pwn* LET'S GO HOME BOYS"

Edited by: Scalor Valentis on 03/02/2006 22:04:29 How to use titan in frontline combat 101.
Tank it to hell, Warp it to enemy position, fire doomsday wepon. Then warp rest of your fleet in and mop up.
The blast wont kill most battleships or capitalships, but it will totally and compleetly eradigate all support and cruiser class ships, meaning that nothing will be scrambling you anyway.
And i dont think titans can even be scrambled in first plase.
titans = tactical nuclear warheads
Also, titans can use wormhole generators, abaling your whole fleet to systemjump with you.
Titans are compleetly Strategic element for the game. Not for soloing 10/10 complex.

Yeah it will unless they fit specifically to tank your doomsday weapon. The blast will pretty much vaporize anything smaller then a capital ship afaik. ________________________________________________________

Titans are symbols of power more then anything else. An Alliance that can build a titan can probaply kick your ass too.

i'd take 3 Motherships over 1 Titan any day
remember the superweapon doesnt fire immediately and announces it that its going to fire
(15 sec activation time)
thats enough time for all except capital ships and non aligned BS's to warp out

what .. only 15 seconds o.O
I'd have thought it'd be more .. 15seconds is the like the average lagg in a fleet battle =) ______________ Only in the Tales that humans tell, do the hunters kill the wolf in the end. |

It could be 15 minutes, you still won't warp out in fleet lag.

No. Currently waiting to get test server up, to test it. 100+ b is very big investment for me. ----------------------------------------------- Logged in a system, next to you =) |

Strikes me that titans are the ultimate baitship...
If there's one in system, can you really afford to ignore it? The Re-fitting, Jump-Cloning, Fleet Jump... all stuff that could if un-opposed really hurt...
So with a couple of covops scouting the enemy fleet, you Cyno in... Activate the Doomsday as the first ship arrives... chances of them re-aligning before it hits is minimal... at that point, your dread/carrier support jumps in & starts cleaning up the already heavily damaged hostiles...
One Possibility, but the sort of tactics you'd need to be using with a Titan, its a powerful ship, but its not a battlewinner by itself... The thing is, If your enemy has one they have options you dont... so while the ship may not be as good in terms of combat performance, cost etc... it still puts your opponents at a hell of a disadvantage.

Lets say you have a minmatar one with titan lvl 4, with a sig radius thingy fitted also.
Thats at least -40% sig radius drop for the whole fleet, and if a single pilot has a halo set it goes down another -25% and if that pilot is in an inty with lvl 5 thats another -25%!
Resulting in about 5m sig?
Even a Vagabond would have 50m sig. uh.

I guess the point most people miss on the titan is the fact that the doomsday wep can be remotly launched on a spot in the system off the cynosural field... the titan isnt a front line wep, though it would make people run if they saw one, its ment for first strike, but from a very long range. just have to have 1 suicidal pilot to setup the field

Just having a Titan in system or within a close proximity will make a hostile fleet think twice about engaging.
Hell just the throught that your corp might have a titan would be able to make most enemy fleet's run way with out having seen it.
It might be pretty much the opposite. Any corp of carebears can mine their ass off for months to build one or just buy one with all the money they make. I doubt their pvpers will be on the level of those who live by fighting, and probably will never have titan. -----------------------
