Anybody know a good defense against a sniping Megathron using T2 ammo ?
The mega just warps in @200k from his target and pops them pretty fast, even small fast moving targets (like interceptors).
What can you do against it (if you lack the skills to fly a sniper like him)
Thanks, Madjeeda

Get a covert ops and sit close to where he likes to warp in. Then warp there when he moves to get your bait. That close to him (within 70-80km) he won't hit you.

You need to move, if you stand stil you wil die! otherwise there is no defence you just need a god tank. And if a target locks you from 200k you normal respose shuld be to warp away....

spike ammo nerfs tracking alot so transversal is the key.

At that range transversal isn't much of a problem anymore.

Not anymore.
Wrecking shots are a chance based percentage of hits now, not of shots. So that means no hits = no wreckings.

Wack on a good tank at that range he is not able to use his best damage ammo so you should be able to tank him easy or you could get a tempest and sniper him back.

I am not convinced of that based on my own daily experienxe of flying a 425II Mega. Transversal though will help you escape. Under 120kms he wont even be able to hit a cruiser that holds transversal high. DO NOT try tanking him unless in a very well tanked BS anything else will go down pretty fast (including HAC).

So you don't know about t2 ammo then. Wrecking shots on cruisers at 245 km for over 500 damage.

While testing the max range and transversal of my Deimos against NPC frigs (yeah, I know, poor for testing things) I seem to land more wrecking hits than any other kind of hit's when riding on the extreme ends of fall off and at high transversal. Im not sure why this coincidence happens, but it feels kinda funny to have 10 misses in a row followed by a wrecking hit followed by another 10 misses and another wrecking.

Be aligned and prepared to warp out if you can especially frigates / cruisers. Use instas to gate / station. If you want to fight back, then get some snipers of your own (sounds like a challenge for you) or use a covert ops to get near him, and I mean 10km, then warp a load of tacklers and close range BS on top of him. Ravens with Torps, Gankageddons, Blasterthrons etc. He will be running some stabs, but to hit you at that range and do damage, should not be more than 4. He won't have any dsort of tank on so will die quickly. You will need patience to set this up though. PK

Your best bet is to warp. No way in hell he can lock you down, so RUN. In theory instapopping BS are pretty much impossible to counter on your own unless you are supremely lucky or have some kinda insane faction ship with MWD and can close to him faster than he can align, which lets face it is unlikely.
Although, if you do have such an arrangement go for it ;) I've seen folks who can hit 8km/s at max speed so that 40 secs to get to him. Might be worth a go ;)

I've got a thing for superfast interceptors atm, an interceptor starting off at 170km from one of these Spike lobbing Megathrons can easily (And i mean really easily) avoid it simply by flying at an angle towards it. There is no real way to express just how crap the tracking of a 425mm II is with Spike ammo. Although you won't catch him before he warps out, you can easily avoid dying. -----
Hi TomB! All out Do or Die Blasterboat for tier 3 Gallente battleship please! Make it look cool too. Thanks. |

ummm nope according my combat logs. (been flying IC¦s and AF¦s all my eve time) and only shots that have hitted me in low tracking weapons and high transversal so far are wrecking shots.
