I'm new to EVE..been playin for about a week...and I started off wanting to be a Pirate...I imaginged running around hunting lone vessels down and killing them...risking my life going into higher secs...just having fun getting the rush from a live free or die attitude.
All I have read about Pirates so far is that they camp at gates and say 'pay or die' Where in gods name did that earn the title of 'Pirate?' Sounds more like some shady bottomfeeders to me...
I would consider being called a Pirate an honorable thing...on the darker side of the world...and someone who doesnt even hunt what they are going to kill isnt honorable.
Maybe I'm just a noob with an unclear view of the game...maybe not...flame me...agree with me...respond tho... |

Ye be hittin the mark on that one, arrggg..
Scummy barnacles they be! Bottomed on the gate; Makin a meal off whatever floats close enough to grab... never moving an inch from there dark holes, a shiverin with fear that they might end up like honest folk.
Har!! They be just starving bones, scratchin there mangy hides looking fer the fleas.

Theres alot more to it than youd think. Certain pirate corps (m0o, sinister) i think do little other than camp gates all day. My corp however does that along with many more activities such as going out to populated 0.0 systems and killing miners. Engage in huge battles where we are usually the smaller force that comes out victorious. We all like to work on our loadouts, improve them so we hunt NPC pirates to get vortex's and good guns for example. Or we attack people who are farming pirates for these things and loot their stuff :)

Only a fool stands and fights a force that is 5 times the size of his own. We do attack people who out number us you dont. If you see an enemy and its a fair fight you run we dont. I would love to see you challenge Vegeta to a 1v1 dual (although I know you would never) even if it was only a 10 second fight. You would be owned.
Now sit down and shut up Faramir.

I was the same way, invisioned true pirating hunting down and fighting corprate convoys.
When I found out the only way to pirate was to grief people at gates I could not do the gutless thing so I went the oppisite route.
It's a shame that there is no real PVP yet. Worse the gutless lamers have ruined the game for the real PVPers.
And so it begins.... |

There isnt any honor in being a pirate. Take it from me there isnt much to get if you are hunting small fries at gates...but larger prizes are given to pirates who can hold their own in bigger fights...this should be known by jsut about everyone who wants to become a pirate....

"I would love to see you challenge Vegeta to a 1v1 dual (although I know you would never) even if it was only a 10 second fight.""
Actually I saw vegeta running from a 1 vs 1 a long time ago. He started locking my indy, I warped out and the rifter pilot I was with chased him through 4 sectors with him talking smack the whole way.
So sorry to shake the pedestal you put him on.
Not to mention because of a couple of choice mods this games' PvP content is either numbers or race to the lock.

Rather die with a smile in a good PVP than be picked off by you gimps sitting on the gates..

'conversation' piracy in eve is hard.
Inside the empire it's impossible.
Outside the empire, it's rare. If someone even responds to the convo, it's usually to fling some (rather amusing) abuse at you. Then you get the tools who would rather self destruct, and collect their insurance money. Then you get the ones that try to run, etc. etc.
Belt piracy is different now, and more plausible, but you still have the issue of the victims just blowing themselves up out of spite.
solve the 'self-destruct for free ships' problem, and people might be more inclined to listen.
SPVD general policy is to charge tolls when possible. Sadly it's not always possible.
Even PCat used to toll people in aunenen, but then came the jip fix.
But you'll have to try it for yourself to *really* understand.
You can ignore most of the non-pirates that will post, too. .

Wrong Tibor, Fanamir would go back and forth over the grid lines. Means over the gridline when 5 vs 1 in his favour and back over the gridline when 3 vs 1.

Keep on flaming, lamers.
