In case you experience problems connecting and downloading off EVE-Files it is due to my network is currently being heavily attacked.
Reason is still unknown, however filtering and monitoring is currently taking quite some resources therefor may affect EVE-Files and related services.
As this goes on users might accidently be banned from accessing the services, in case this happends to you let me know and I will look into it asap.
Why would you end up banned you ask? Well because I am trying to filter out attacking IP's and dropping them as far out on my network as possible you might be identified as an attacker.
This however does not mean you are one, but in order to restore full control I am forced to use tight filtering.
Once again, I am sorry if this cause any problems for you and do let me know asap if bans are being placed wrong.

Originally by: Dark Shikari Everyone: Lower the load on Chribba's site. Host your sigs at Imageshack or TinyPic (the second is faster these days). Images can be hosted elsewhere, leave Eve-Files for the videos and such that have no other choice.
The load is no problem, the problem is someone attacked my network. I doubt it had anything to do with a specific service so I dun mind hosting at all (since that's why I created the service).
Hopefully things should be under control now, things seem to have been running pretty good for the past day so hopefully this was just a one-time thing, but I am monitoring it closely to be sure.

Originally by: Dark Shikari Ah, I assumed it was a DOS attack.
Yes I was dossed, however not the type of DOS that tries to fill the pipe (I already have pretty good protection against such attacks by dropping traffic in the core-routers) but the type of attacks that tries to open as many connections as possible, thus limit the amount of available sockets plus making the fw filter more since it has more open connections to keep track of.
This was done from many different IP's at the same time, one single IP held at one point 22341 open connections. You do the math when there are multiple IP's doing the same thing.
Things seem to have calmed down now, and hopefully this will not occur too often, filters are still set to pretty tight filtering and will be lowered as time goes on.
