Just be sure to announce it after security has escorted Oveur from the building.

Originally by: mxmus This Saturday the 100.000 subscriber mark was broken. As you can imagine this is a major milestone for both EVE Online and CCP. So we wanted to personally thank you for all the support and input into the game. Tomorrow we are going to find out who holds the honor of being the 100.000 subscriber and pod him a few times.
Again, thank you all and we look forward to having the new server hardware in place for you later this month. That hardware will more than triple the performance of EVE Online and provide you with an unmatch game experience.
This is why I love this game !!!
Gratz to all the members of CCP's development team. The contiued success of EVE Online will only expand due their efforts!
Now, when am I going to get a responce on the issue of this allegded "dns" issue with EVE's site and access to the game servers? Loosing ships due internal conflicts with DNS sucks and I would appreciate it if I could be shown a little compassion through these hardships. * [Incident: 060130-000309]
Thanks and Gratz !!!

Once you have connected to the server DNS is no longer an issue and would not be causing you to lose ships.
DNS is only useful when first contacting the server. Because it is an IP address the DNS issue is probably mute.
However, contacting the eve site is a different story. -

Response ([GM]Retrofire) - 02/04/2006 05:12 PM Hi d, It seems that your ISP's DNS servers aren't updated, a change was made with our hosting serive a while back that changed the IP address for the page. It's been that long that your ISP's DNS server should have updated itself long ago, if you are using a specific DNS server try using the default one your ISP offers. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us again. We'll do all we can to help. Best regards, The EVE Online Customer Support Team
* That is the last corrospondece I had recieved when enquiring to the problem I have ingame where my system can lock up during oddly timed events which generally cause me to loose a ship.
The first responce told me to update my profiles.

That is doubtfull until you will take care once and for all of all those macrominers/ISKsellers.
Wondering how many accounts that would remove from that 100000....

Ok minus the plague of macro-miners say 10k Minus the amount of multi-account users say 40k (considering a lot of people I talk to say they have 4 - 6 accounts this may actualy be higher)
50k actual users - still a pretty decent amount :) I do understand the reason behind making a big deal out of these kinda things ..just to try and hype things up and generate interest in EVE. Hell if it keeps EVE alive and improving then why not. But every time I see these kinda numbers posted and hyped around the web it just seems kinda cheesy when you know the reality behind them. Ah well as long as it keeps on growing then its a good thing I guess.

You honestly think one tenth of eve's players are macrominers? ONE TENTH?! Do I even need to point out how ridiculously out of line that estimate is?
