Anyway... thinking of that makes me giggle every time. it's why i stayed subbed instead of quitting when the guardian-vexor/monocle/SIW debacle occurred. once people looked at the RMT more deeply and the first couple dudes started exploiting the same loophole to prove a point, i knew the results would be hilarious, one way or another. it was indeed hubris that caused this, and now it's funny to watch the backlash. if nothing is learned from this and things aren't corrected, i suspect many may chose to cancel subscriptions, but for now the destruction derby is worth the price of admission.

Also note that in many jurisdictions real lotteries which offer a grand prize when purchasing/doing something will have small print which will say "no purchase necessary" while offering a way to participate in another way (still in the small print, of course).
