There have been a few actual expansions but mostly we see just revamps.. I think CCP needs to come out with an real expansion that opens up new parts of space. adds a new class of ship. It wasn't so long ago that the big complaint was that CCP kept coming out with all of these new things and ships that people were complaining that things were balanced (which was very valid at the time). As a result, CCP have been going through their Tiericide process while bringing out smaller and fewer big changes (which, by the way, I would consider the new deployable structures to be pretty big, by the way). Let them finish the Tiericide project to get what we already have balanced, then we can go back to the actual "expansions." Ransoms are accepted in Isk, Ships, Mods, and Dolls.

They'd have to be incredibly stupid to believe that the vast majority of the playerbase would pay an expansion fee on top of a subscription fee. And because of the nature of EVE, CCP cannot make expansions optional. So people would either have the choice of paying for an expansion on top of their subscription fees, or they won't be able to play anymore regardless of subscription fees. Very few people would be willing to do this I think, no matter how stellar the expansion turns out to be. EVE Online - A Rigged Game

Would you honestly trust them not to just blow the money a second time? As to would I pay for expansions: No, not with what they have called an expansion for the last 2 years. Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

To all the people who said dumb **** like "i pay for expansions every month" That is why we get zero expansions. They are patches that they give names to. There is very rarely content in these CCP "expansions" . Moving stats around and fixing bugs is not a expansion. It is a Patch. And I know I am not that broke that I would not fork over some money to CCP for a solid patch that really adds content to the game. Not only would we get more content, It would help CCP out also. Just stop going eating so damn much and you can afford a one time cost for real content and not a patch where they are moving stats around.

Maybe some of us presuppose that a paid expansion would be an Apocrypha-type real expansion. Trinity taken together would certainly qualify. CCP is a tiny developer. It's amazing they can do what they do with such a limited budget and development team atm... but I think the assumption the OP made was that such expansions would be meaty. ...pretty sure the "yes" crowd assumed the same.
