I've only been playing for about 1 month so if there's a reason for Pod killing, what is it?
I was mining in a 0.3 Asteroid Field when I was attacked and my ship was blown to bit's. That didn't bother me, I knew the risks, but then he/she attacked my Pod. Now unless there's a crazy Pod kill count I can't see the gain of blowing up the Pod. If you are that evil to blow up a very basic sad non threatening "so called" mining ship, I would see it more Evil to let me warp 5 jumps back home, slower than driving Miss Daisy in my sad little cacoon. Instead, I'm killed and Bam! Home within sec's. Interesting
Seeing that my Pod with me in it was destroyed I realised I really didn't survive, so that Char is laid to rest and new fresh Char is created.
Realism *smiles*

The main reason: killboards. The second reason: no sound taste more delicious that the whining carebear that lost all this implants because he was AFK in lowsec. ____________________________________ Free ISP users, read this if you have connections problems |

well usually people have their clones set up to 50 jumps away so in the case of 0.0 its a removal tactic as well as territorial reasons. Removal of implants and to keep the clone business ie covering skillpoints busy is another reason. If they dont have a sufficent clone they loose skillpionts
But mostly its a territorial issue it forces them back to somewhere else to buy u time etc etc ie pirates wars or mercs

Edited by: Earthan on 08/02/2006 11:03:33 Yes you dont need restarting , you will be cloned at a station.Skillpoints are the ultimatre power in Eve, throwing away 1 month of training isnt good.
And answering your question: poeple kill pods because they like.
I kill only enemies and in taht case i kill pods to make them loose more obviously.( implants, clone ( a 2 year characters clone costs 17 milions), time to get back if he attacked in our space)
Ps if you need any isk because of this accident message me ingame, i will be happy to help a starting p[ilot. ******** "...And thereÆs even some evil mothers Well theyÆre gonna tell you that everything is just dirt ...And that, yÆknow, children are the only ones who blush! And that, life is just to die..." |

for you it's not a problem now, but in 5-6 six months the clone will cost you 3-10 mils, thats why we pod kill, less money for you, the better i am.
eve is a game of eco power(isk wise) the more isk you have the more pvp abilities you have
a week ago , i killed a new player in 0.0, he was 6 days old, he contact me later with the usual smack, telling me that he just lost 600 mils in implant
i was like WTF? you can't possibly have this implants mate i respond, first of all you do not have the skills, second of all, where the hell you got the isk???
as weird as it sounds the guy had 2 local hull exanders fitted and 1 beta , thats almost 100mils,
after several evemails, i told him that he probably have paid isk on ebay.
the reply?
i beep kill you beep beep BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
well i did some good after all, i think he got his lesson.
anyway, it seems that you can have the skills in 6 days for the good implants, so he might as well have them on

Lucky you that option is not included. You'd gimp yourself to total uselessness. How about at character creation time, you can choose cloneless play. Choosing this option means your skills train twice as fast as players using clones. You'd get some takers
Edited: On Second thought, bad idea since it would give the carebears who never leave 1.0 - 0.5 a huge advantage and keep them from ever risking death.

If you consider a war as being a zero-sum game between you and one other corp, their loss is your gain. So if you can inflict financial damage upon them by destroying their expensive implants, that gives you a slightly better edge in the war since they are less able to replace future losses. -------------------------------------------------------------------------

You'll regret that. Never having more than 1 month of skillpoints means your character will be absolute rubbish. You'll always be beaten in pvp by someone with the sense not to delete his character every time he dies.
Hardcore mode on D2 was only fun when everyone you went up against had the same limitations. You're risking your character in eve but everyone else is risking a clone payment. Get used to people stalking you personally and killing you because it's going to happen now that you've announced you recreate your char when podded.
Facts are facts. You can play the game any way you like but you can't force anyone else to do the same so what's the point? Play the game as it is and take every advantage you can, I say.

Well along the same lines, his clone may be many systems away and he might not get back to you before you get out of dodge. If you leave the pod alone he mave a PvP capable ship in the very system you destroyed his ship in.
