why is it that people expect safety in 0.0 when they go in there naked and alone.
pvp is completely consensual, you consent to fly poorly armed, poorly protected and clearly unskilled and they consent to show why that is a very bad thing to do.
you entire argument is like saying, hey I can walk around newark naked with a roll of $20's stuffed in my ***** but I don't expect to get beaten, robbed and laughed at.

Go back to playing WoW if you don't like the PvP element of EVE. It's all nice and consensual there if i remember correctly.
Some of us actually enjoy the risk involved in being attacked at any time as it adds exitment and tension to an already great game

Eve is actually two games in one.
You are allowed to jump between these two games while keeping the same character, attributes and equipment - you do this by flying from 0.5 to 0.4 space.
If you want to play the pve game - stay in 0.5+ and run missions, you can get lvl 4 missions after a little while which will give you lots of high value NPCs to shoot at, the agent will even give you rewards.
If you get bored of the pve game run a few jumps and try the pvp game, if you don't like it go back to the pve game (you'll probably get sent back via your clone vat)

I started playing Eve in 2003, I've enjoyed all of it but these forums...
You can get to 0.0 with a little luck and some good timeing. Look at the map. See if your route has a big blob of Pod kills, ship kills, and average pilots in space. It is important to use the "Last hour" function.
As for why....
1. Claimed space. If you go in there, you better be yelling on local "DONT SHOOT!!!"
2. Kill boards...the kids need bragging rights.
3. Cause they cant play this game any other way...
Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter pirate or mixture of them all.

1. Cause they can. And you find it a bad game dynamic..... here's a hint EVE is for those that think it's a good game dynamic, and while someone above thinks that shouldn't be said. Games like WOW etc. are much better at catering for those that think it's a bad game dynamic.
2. There is such a flag, it's the on switch on your brain. Not a flame, if you're smart, you don't have to PvP.
3. If you provide them with a target, yes they will.
I think you need to read up on what a game is like before playing it. And not post drivel like this. It's the EVE equivelant of posting on the WOW boards that you think hunters should get m-16s

Wow an award thats sooooo nice. Anyway I don't think my remark asinine nor damageing to rep of the game in anyway. It's simply my opinion nobody said you had to like it. And seriously CCP will never add a PVP flagging system to EVE as this game is designed completely around PVP nad flying around in space ANY space in EVE is risky and dangerous nad that is a huge part of the fun. If you never where at risk of being attacked by anybody in this game what would be the point, you would never face anxiety when jumping into .4 or below, there would never be any fear of losing your ship, Piracy would disappear as every player entering losec would turn on the "you can't hurt me flag" If this player wants risk-Free PVE then he should go play a game like D&D online where PVP does not exist. That is all.

I'm agree with the OP let's have this flag. I'm fed up being attacked when i go in low sec !
other possibilty will be a second server where pvp is disabled !
We have the right to enjoy this game too, not only those piwate griefers waiting for my ship in each system i go !!!
oh and as i bother to write a post, may i suggest to change the skill system ? right now is BS ! how can a person learn by waiting ??? You lear when you pratice some thing !
and lets flood the market with T2 BPO because I need T2 items and now all the BP are hoarded by cartel and greedy capitalists !
Oh and I want you to unerf my missile and make the lvl4 mission the way it was before. now you almost have to risk something (my precious implants !! ) to gain some decent isk !!!!
And No ! nosferatu, insta, local chat are all fine dont nerf them FFS or I cancel my 27 accounts !!!

Try to understand and play the game by their rules before to suggest to change them. If you dont enjoy the game and the rule then stop to play it.

Lol suggesting someone to play WoW while he complains about PK system, ain't gonna change about player safety. For example, in WoW if you are an Orc stumbled in Alliance area, wouldn't you be KOS? "Hey look an orc! Git him!!!111oneoenoene" you don't want to PvP, but they kill you anyway...
If you guys gonna suggest carebear MMO for example, here are some (which mostly are Korean games);
- Ragnarok Online
- Maple Story
- etc (other MMO that have PvP in an arena or soemthing)
Back to topic (caution RANT MODE ON);
I like the system the way it is. My first low sec encounter was bit shocking. But I learn to accept and learn how to survive low sec. ACTUALLY IF YOU ARE WILLING TO LEARN, YOU WON'T BE WHINING LIKE THIS. Geez, people do post and gives suggestion to newbies how to learn to survive. You don't expect pack of wolves to act cuddly in a forest when you don't want to be eaten by them. The predators in this case are pirates or griefer or random gankers in low sec who like to kill for fun!
If you don't want to get yer ass blasted being in low sec. Why don't you join an alliance which have 0.0 territory where you can get high bounty NPC all you like? Or do mission till you run for LVL 4 agent where you can get almost equal cash? But if you insist being a freelancer and like low sec hunting, learn how to use INSTA, SAFESPOTTING, LAST KILL IN 1 HOUR ON MAP, SCANNER, USE WCS, and MONITOR LOCAL for PETE'S SAKE!!!!

Kalim, many others has tried suggested "player-friendly" low sec system before. But those suggestions often will only benefit some. While the impact can be disastrous for others. Not only for player side, but also for economic point of view.
