Ive got a ton of skills that each only take like an hour to train... but id rather not sit at my computer 24/7 selecting a new skill every time one finishes.
How do i queue them up so it switches from one to another automatically?

Are you kidding?
This game has crap like a web browser and a calculator in it but no friggin way to select more than one skill to train in a row?

So wait is this really the way it works? Ive got like 500 skills that take an hour each to train, so im expected to log in every hour for the next few months just to click one button?
Ok, unless someone tells me this is some sort of "newb hazing" joke im really close to cancelling my account.

It just strikes me as bizarre that the game has dozens of useless little widgets, but it doesnt have a simple system to queue up skills.
Why isnt there one? They just didnt think to add one or what?

Originally by: Dark Shikari Its so that people can't farm characters by setting up a 500-skill queue, letting it go for 8 months, and selling the char for a billion ISK.
Its not really a problem--you'll only even have one-hour skills for your first week anyways. And all you have to do is train one-hour skills when you're on and long skills when you're not.
Mmmm... if everyone could set up that "500-skill queue" then there'd be no market for someone trying to sell high-skilled chars.
Im not seeing how a skill queue harms the game. If everyone can queue up their skills, then everyone is still on an even playing field.
As it is, the people who have a higher tolerance for annoyance have the most to gain from the game. The more hoops you jump through, the further in the game you advance. Talk about a flawed concept....

Originally by: Feryal Then you dont know the market very well. :) There are always new people in that want something now and are to lazy to get it.. Thus all the ebay sites and other ways to "buy" things they did not earn.
As for no down side? There are a number of good reasons why they may not want to add a que system. One of which is they want you to actualy *gasp* loggin and play the game.
Honestly it takes about 2 minutes of thinking at one point and its never an issue again. There are many skills that will take 20+ days to train. Simply train short skills when your online and long skills when your off-line. In the end, this is the way CCP wants it... Either live with it or cancel your account. All in all, its a great game if you enjoy HC PVP.
Yeah, im sure it would really kill CCP to have people pay $20/month for an account and not log on. I know i hate it when people pay me for nothing.
Seems like the biggest response so far has been "OMG DEAL WITH IT STOP WHINING." Thats not much of an explanation, though.

Originally by: Aquas That's the response you're getting b/c you're complaining about something that's silly. Would it be a nice feature to have that would save the thousands of us a little hassle, yes, sure. As has been said though, if you could do that, a lot of people wouldn't even log into the game for weeks and weeks at a time. I don't know if you can grasp this but an MMOG with no one in it, isn't that much fun. Also, like has already been stated, once you train your skills past level 3 you start getting into days and weeks of training so it's not really an issue anymore. Aside from that, you're not really meant to start the game with all your skills at high levels. By "start" I mean train all your skills up first before you ever do any missions or anything. Those hours that you're waiting you should be using to accumulate wealth so you can afford to upgrade your character.
Basically all I see is you doing your best to try and powerlevel through the game and now you're upset b/c you can't. You apparently want to train up all your skills now then just easily blow through all the low level stuff and now you're all ****y b/c the game mechanics won't let you.
Whatever the reason, the simple fact is you can't queue skills and more than likely you never will be able to so debating it is moot.
If people queue up a bunch of skills and dont log in for 6 months - so what? Do you really think 6 months of waiting and $90 in fees is a really enticing choice for someone new to the game?
People are going to join EVE because they want to play the game. It's absurd to think theyd join for any other reason. Even if someone did join with the intent to queue skills up for 6 months and leave - who cares? When they get back theyve got a skilled up character with zero money, no corp, no research, no storyline. The game isnt just about skills.
It's not a matter of me trying to 'powerlevel' through the game. It's a matter of how annoying it is to play the game as intended. It's completely possible for someone to log into the game at the exact moment each skill ends training and select a new one, conceivably doing that untill every skill is trained. So if its possible to do within the current confines of the game mechanics, then why not just make it possible to do without waking up at 2am or covering your monitor in post-it notes?

Exactly.
Which is why queue'ing skills shouldnt be such a heretical suggestion.
