Ships That Could Use a New Look

Dakath	Posted - 2006.02.12 00:40:00 - [1] My favorite ship in need of a new look is the Iteron Mark V. It looks like they took 2 Iteron Mark IIIs and shoved one up the other's um, er, exhaust tubes. Also, some of the Minmatar ships are kind of unfinished. You can see hollow spaces where there should be none. What ships would you like to see have their looks improved? I, for one, welcome our new Jovian Overlords!

Culmen	Posted - 2006.02.12 02:15:00 - [11] The black bird its troubling to note that the entire ship looks like it was made by randomly hitting the exstrude command on a 3d modeler its not just assymetric, its just... random mabey thats why it's such an efficent ECMer it doesnt have to actually turn on the ECM it just needs to get a ship' sensors to actually try to make sense of the hull geometry
Turia	Posted - 2006.02.12 02:15:00 - [12] I like Minmatar ships. You can say what you want about the Caldari, but frankly, Minmatar ships look the most 'human'. Of course, I'd never fly a Minmatar ship unless drunk, so here's a rundown on the unquestioned strength-of-ugliness of the Amarr Navy: Frigates: Okay, they're frigates. Rah. Cruisers: The Omen and Arbitrator are the only passable cruisers. The Augoror obviously isn't finished being built yet, and the Maller is hands down the ugliest ship in the game - not even the vile profile of the Moa can top it. Battlecruiser: Cut the beak a bit and stretch it out, for it presently appears to be an obese pelican. Battleships: While the Apocalypse looks unfinished with a bunch of pointy whatevers sticking out of it randomly, the Armageddon is by far the coolest battleship in the game. It's a ship that warps onto a field of battle, shouts, "I'm a warship, raaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!" and proceeds to kick arse in style. In short, we can forgive the lackluster design of the Apoc, so don't waste your time here, see what you can do about the Cruiser-class ugliness.

The merlin hull is about the only one that survived the masacre. Like the Raven, almost looks cool, but one half is like smaller than the other, then you got those 2 square 'rooms' just sticking up. Moa, man lets not even go there, that things is just crazy, Kestrel, not too bad here, again though one side just intentionally messed with. Scorpion, omg don't get me started there, they just never even finished that ship apparently.

They went out of their way with every ship design to make it as ugly and 'unlikly' as possible so that no one would later come up and say "hey, that was my design in (insert date here) and I want to sue!" Some just happened to come out looking 1/2 assed decent.. the rest were 100% successes. Sorry.. but eve is not about ship design(but I REALLY wish they would do a total rehaul of ALL the damn designs in the game and let some REAL artists design the ships.. bring in a few physicists, and mathematicians, to make sure the designs would 'work' in zero gravity(or at least inside this 'fluid' space we have in eve) to make the realists (like me) a little happier. (IE: things like "That rocket there would cause that ship to spin uncontrollably, etc") Ah well.. do u think that CCP would actualy LISTEN to us though? we pay for our subscriptions..thats all they want from us.. move along now.. nothing to see here.. Jacinto Naysmith	Posted - 2006.02.12 03:41:00 - [19] The Heron and Kestrel are the best looking frigates in the game IMO, and the merlin is above avarage. The Raven has some good parts and bad parts, but the scorpion is just silly. The Ferox and Cormorant place a distant second behind the Brutix and Cyclone in the looks department IMO. Sadly all of the cruisers are horrible looking with the Caracal ranking at the top with "somewhat passable". Personally I think the Tempest and Typhoon are the best looking battleships in the game, and the Rupture is quite nice looking too.
