They say in the thread that the skills are subject to change, but at this point it looks like they wont change. |

I agree that AWU 5 is much more beneficial skill for a combat pilot and is not just a time sink.
I feel sad for all those who anticipated and trained High Energy Physics 4 for nothing (including myself). |

At least the new requirements are pretty easy.

Not to sound like a **** (still having my morning coffee)... but suck it up. If you don't have those skills right now then you'll only be, at worst, delayed in having fun with bastion mode. It's not going anywhere. So don't worry.
As for the "principle" of the matter...
Customer? Meet private company. Private company doesn't need to tell you anything ahead of time unless there are rules/laws that says it has to. Letting you know what the future holds even 12 hours beforehand is them being NICE.
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Yes a private company doesn't have to do anything. CCP can shut down the Eve servers tomorrow and we would all be out of luck. On the other hand CCP wants to make money so they won't. The same goes for having satisfied customers. I got it CCP is going to upset some with patch changes but saying one thing but at the last minute doing something different is going to make everyone unhappy. |

So you only need Advanced Weapon Upgrades 5 and Energy Grid Upgrades 5 trained up to use Bastion, on sisi they had a new skill, is it gone now? |

You're making it out to be black and white.
Yes... they want to make money... but that in no way requires them to bend over backwards for every little detail (which is what this basically is).
I worked to service industry for a long time... and there comes a point where people become so pedantic and petty about particular details (despite the best efforts of a business) that they simply have to be told to "deal with it" or leave.
I personally think that people have become too used to the "bend-over-backwards-and-give-me-perfect-service-or-I-take-my-business-elsewhere" attitude has gotten out of hand in this day and age.
Businesses are worked by people too.

I'm not aware of any new skill. I knew you had to have High Energy Physics 4 but that's not a new skill. Now it appears no skill is required for the module since if you have the skill to get in the ship you have the skill for the module. |

Once it hits the patch notes it will pretty much stay that way unless something drastic changes.
Still feel like having the High Energy Physics 4 requirement was more useful... actually meant you had to be able to fly Marauders and a bit extra to utilize that part of them. Like Triage and Siege modules both require their own skill past the ship requirement. |

Actually I owned a restaurant for a few years. Was quite good at it. Sold it off because I wanted to have an actual social life.
edit: and yes Thaddeus Eggeras... there is no new skill needed for Bastion. Just the two you mentioned.
