The event was "The Empires Needs Your Help!" - Well where the heck was the empire? CCP slapped the high sec community in the face.
CCP ran a story based event and on purpose lead the group to null-sec where they KNEW everyone would die. You gave us no warning!
99% of us didn't even have time to activate a single module or defend ourselves whatsoever. This is the worst "event" I have ever attended in a MMO in my entire life. CCP trolled their own player-base. Shameful.
CCP knew exactly what they were doing here. Lambs to the slaughter. I knew I would lose my ship today. I was ready for a fight. I wasn't ready to be lead to the slaughter without even a fight and LEAD into the lions den by CCP. |

I've never seen a game development company utterly mess up something like this. It's either malevolent or complete incompetence.
It was a story-based PvE event changed to PvP last minute (so people brought PvE ships), then the location changed last minute, then the entire group let straight into the lions den. Even the Twitch streamers were questioning the legitimacy of this encounter.
We were told by the event leaders (yellow text) to go into Doril. It was all a setup from the very beginning. The actual event leaders said "Ok now JUMP!" (into Doril) and tell people in the event to go through the gate KNOWING they will all die on the other side b/c TiDi was so horrible.
This wasnt an event. This was shameful. We certainly cannot trust these events ever again. Terrible way to launch an expansion. |

Shaddock Katal wrote:This event went sour from the start. The HS faction was told that the objectives were secret and that we had to follow empire (CCP)directions to find the objective. We were then from the start placed in two rally points, then all send to a separate rally point, and then moved again.
The problem with this was most / all the nodes along the went wen to time dilation which got worse as the fleet moved, meaning the first fleets that moved went many times faster than the next fleets that moved. This problem was exacerbated by the fact the directions to players came over twitter and not in game, causing further split of the HS forces.
As the multiple HS fleets approached the second staging areas the fleets that were still 10-20 jumps away attempted to tell the closer FCs to hold place. The fleets initially moved 1 jump towards the final objective then held. However a CCP dev then intervened in game told everyone to jump because there was only a small force on the other side.
The HS fleets that were present were then in a position of listening to their FCs or listening to a CCP Dev on what to do. Unlike the NS/LS groups the HS fleets didnt know our FC's from anyone else and figured the Dev was telling us to jump as part of the event. This lead to the initial massacre.
The second set of fleets which I was in then started hearing reports of ENTIRE FLEETS of HS members dying with little to no kills inflicted causing mass confusion in the ranks, desertions of fleet (including my FC), and an eventual decision to hold in place until more direction or plans could be conceived.
This problem started with poor communication from CCP event leaders, and a strangely timed intervention by a CCP dev ordering HS fleets into a battle as if they were our FCs. That combined with what was mentioned previously in this thread of the NS location to attack led to this debacle.
I am sure a well organized NS fleet would have still beat the disorganized HS fleet in a battle, but this wasnt a battle we were told about, this was an ambush that CCP lead us into. Give this post a 2nd look. This post pretty much sums up exactly what happen today and why it's such baloney. |

Nobody is blaming Razor. In their position I'd have done the same thing. I'm happy for them!
I think the point everyone here is missing is that the CCP Dev who was leading the event instructed everyone to jump in to Doril. More than once he insisted, "Everyone Jump!" and "Jump! Jump!" and kept insisting people go in.
Of course, this being in a unique in-game event where nobody knows what to expect (and in-fact it is stated that our goal is mysterious and unknown) why wouldn't we follow the event leaders instructions? We had already followed him from Ihal to Doril. We were participating in an event he was leading.
The fact that CCP lead everyone to their doom is so outrageous. This was a disaster on a cosmic level in the gaming world. I've never even heard of anything like this happening. |
