I use a Ferrari 3400.
Runs eve fine. Also runs Halflife 2/UT2004 at 1280x1024 max detial no probs.
Runs Quake 4 no probs, though not at max all out detail.
Lags out to death with x3 with latest patch on argon prime :(

AMD x2 64bit 4400 (oc to 3.45ghz)
4.5gb DDR pc3200
Duel SLI Geforce7800 GLX 256mb PCI Express 16x
Nforce 4 Mainboard - Chaintech
100/1000 Optical running through a 36mB optical line (rarely get lag)
EVE: 1600x1200 24bit 8bit alpha
Card's settings: 8x AA 16x AF
All settings turned on/high in eve's setup bar - running in windowed.
I can easily handle battles of 200 ships or more as far as FPS are concerned, but the lag bottlenecking is CCP's issue, not my net connection's

I tried to run EVE on my das's new AMD turon Laptop a couple of nights ago, It's got 1 gig ram and a Turon 64bit Mobile Processor. The graphics Chip in it is an ATI Radeon Xpress 500m or something.
When I installed and ran the EVE client,it loaded up fine, looked fine on login untill i got to the character selection screen, where the graphics themselves looked fine, its just the display was 'flashing' on the screen ie. disapearing then re-appearing again. Tried tweaking the setting on graphics adaper and the game but no improvments at all.
I recon it was the graphics card its-self tbh so that might be one to look out for.
I was rather dissapointed in that, my Desktop is bearly able to run eve, I think its about to give up totally, and I was hoping to find a substitute for it.
I haven't read to the end of this post BUT this problem is solved by the first sticky on Known Issues and Workarounds...

my lappie runs 1 fine, or 2 not quite smoothly:

i must say though, if i try to run 2 clients @ 1680x1050 windowed it still creaks a bit... windowed mode is really murder, but i just cant go back to fullscreen after 12 months of playing with the sound off while browing the net. Id upgrade to dual-core but its hard to find a 90nm core that OCs like this clawhammer tank :)
well, i'd get an opty 180 but theyre bleeding hard to get a hold of.

You won't believe how relieved I am to know I don't have the oldest PC to play Eve on
AMD 1.33GHz Athlon
slightly under 400MB RAM
Geforce 4 MX440
Definetley playable but have to zoom waaaaay out for fleets or deadspace with lots of clouds. Still get lag spikes where it locks for between 30 seconds to a minute, and random crashes now and again.
Got my beady eyes on an AMD Athlon 64 3500+, NVidia 6600GT, new motherboard and 1 GB RAM. (fingers crossed)

two words: hell... NO!
Alienwares are not only not worth the money, but they are EXTREMELY overpriced. I actually did a small experiment when I built my new PC(s); Mine cost me roughly 1,200usd to build. I went on www.alienware.com and checked out the same kind of PC and it ran into the 5-6,000USD range. All you're really paying for is the purty case, the neonlights and blinkie LEDs ;) (btw, my main workhorse looks identical to an alienware, bought an alienware case off of ebay)

Performance:
Adequate for Mining, chatting and minor furballs. Some Stuttering but not enough to keep me from playing. I use an 802.11g conection that sometime get dropped causing CTD Runs best isn Full Screen though Windowed mode is still possible. Most Graphics and lag issues are in Windowed mode
Settings:
24 bit color
Windowed (or FS)
1024x768
32bit z buff w/8- bit stencil
Z buffer on

Memory Leak? Performance stars to detoriorate after 2-3 hours contius play.require Restrat. sometimes the Space background turns "White" all other objects are normal. Sometimes fixed by switching to full screen. I'm playing around with the Color depth and Z buffer stttings to fix that.

I use a laptop and a desktop.
The laptop is
Pentium 780 2 gig
1 gig ram
pci express geforce go 6800
And the game looks stunning !
My other computer is
Athlon 64 3200+
1 Gig Ram
Radeon X850 XT 256mb
And it runs smoother than anything on that. The only problem is that the monitor only supports up to 1078x1024 Damn flat screen rubbish.

I must say that eve ran pretty nice on my old machine. And i mean old 
The specs where as followed:
* Amd Duron 950 Mhz
* Ati Radeon 9200 SE 64 mb
* 640 Mb Sdram (That is one bar of 128 and one bar of 512 from another brand)
* 10/100 Lan card
And i managed to play stuff like Act of War or Doom 3 on it on average  , but i cant remember the fps on eve or any other games.
Needless to say, the old cat burned herself out a few months ago.

on my athlon 2.5k, 1gb ram and geforce 6600 gt i have crazy amount of... 10-15 fps...
thats so damn sad, graphic is nice, but no fun in watching slideshow :/

Looking through these, I would like to note my compie isn't completely top of the line, but runs a lot better then most of your systems. I mean, it's not choppy, period. The only thing I can tell the difference in that might seperate my compies from a lot of yours is:
Buy a better Mobo. My current Mobo is no longer sold by MSI because it made buying their newer series unneccessary.
Buy better RAM. Yes, having several gigs is nice... I guess. However, better timings is prolly gonna be better for EVE.
Those are the only things I can think of that would seperate my compy from a lot of yours.
The current cost of my comp is >1000USD (I payed 1200 for it when I got it) and it runs the game with high settings, AA and AF, etc. with absolutely no issues. Also turn off transperencies in Menus. That's an easy ten FPS.
