Hi all,
I have two sensor booster 1's on my Hound. I am obviously trying to get lock time to a minimum. When operational they cut lock time to a touch over a second down from about 4-5 seconds along with putting my range out to 124km from 55km.
The 'bug' I have may be the way I try to target or maybe a genuine bug so here is what I am doing to see this.
1) Once in targetting and cruise missile range I select you - the 'customer' - on overview
2) Decloak (f1), 2x sensor boost (alt-f1 alt-f2)
Here is where I have seen this bug. Since you are already selected on overview I have had it such that I can see you selected and see my sensor boosters boosting and yet the 'lock' icon does not come up AT ALL. I have also seen it take anywhere from 3-6 seconds. However, if I do 1+2 from above without having you - the 'customer - selected and then immediately select you I always see the lock icon immediately.
So, am I doing something wrong here or is it lag or is it something else or is it bugged? Obviously when targetting in a stealth bomber I want lock ASAP but this jumping around between targets workaround is not fast enough and requires a lot of mouse moving from targets to lock icons etc.
Any thoughts? I have already given up using the icons for starting the boosters as that is much less reliable than using the hot keys (you might get one, two or no boosters activated depending on your timing). I really need to get this as efficient as possible assuming there is no bug.
Is there a 'lock' button or hot key for the item in overview that might force it to be quicker/get around moving the mouse all over the screen? Then it could be 'f1' for decloak, 'alt-f1'+'alt-f2' for boosting and then 'L' for lock target in overview followed by cruise missiles sailing in your direction?!

Pressing Ctrl + left clicking the target is the fastest way to start a lock if memory serves me right. If the target is out of range or if you're unable to lock it for some other reason, the locking procedure is aborted after a fraction of a second.
Hope this helps,

Not a bug. Overview takes a bit of time to refresh. If you target a planet/moon during warp, the 'warp to' options doesn't show up excatly when you leave warp either. A click on the object fixes that.

The problem is clicking on the object - that was already selected - does not seem to refresh it. You need to 'leave' the object picking something else and then go back to pick your target. Definitely not ideal when you then still need to get to the lock icon and hit that before getting your weapons going.

Hi Move ur boosters to the lower hot keys (the ones that use ctrl+F1..). then: keep ur mouse over ur "customer" on overview and press F1 (to decloak) and hold down ctrl and press F1+F2(sensor boosters)+click on target(to target it).. This i think is the fastes way. Regards
