Edited by: FatBloke on 14/02/2006 17:14:26 Edit: This is added in response to Capsicums request that suggestions regarding the subject of upskilling or n00b bumping be more constructive...........
If players are so keen to get ahead that they are willing to go on Eb*y and buy accounts, isk and equipment, why does CCP not take advantage of this
Call it the "Silver, gold and Platinum account packs"
Silver: set up account costs 50 euros Gold; Set up account costs 75 euros Platinum; Set up account costs 100 euros
Silver: 1 million skill points Gold: 2.5 million skill points Platinum: 4 million skill points
You can select how to spend the skill points during character creation.....
You get isk too:
Silver: 10 million Gold: 20 million Platinum: 30 million
You get to select ships too:
Silver: 2 tech one frigs and a tech one hauler Gold: 2 tech one frigs one tech one destroyer and a hauler Platinum: 3 tech one frigs, one tech one cruiser and a hauler
With perhaps a warning if you cannot use the ships yet due to lack of skills
Also a grab bag of modules, nothing named, nothing T2, but enough to outfit the ships (T1 hardeners, PDUs, CPUs, RCUs, repairers, boosters, hi slot mods decided by race. silver gets a basic grab bag, x 1.5 the Number of modules for gold, x2 for platinum.

Right, sorry, if they add this, I want to be given some sort of option for spending 4 months training to get the few million skillpoints I have now.
This will just lead to people getting screwed and being ****ed about it, unless current players are offered some sort of option(s) that will make it fair.

Just keep it simple, CCP could sell batches of 1 mill skillpoints and/or 100 mill isk for 25 euro's a piece.
Iam sure they could in effect double their income that way =)

Whoa, i nthink that would give anybody not on a platinum a realllly unfair advantage .. lts keep it the way it is with CCP trying to keep a level playing field.

I hear what you are saying, but how does this put you at a disadvantage?
If you want to take advantage of this.. set up a new account, take advantage of the 'offer' then transfer your specialised alt to your existing account, or run the second account without the pain of upskilling and changing skills every 20 minutes....

tbh any noob who wants to fast track can: Buy Game Time codes, sell them for isk and buy a well rounded pvp / missioning / fun character.
I make no judgement here regarding the ethics of this, it's just an observation. Galactic Exploration and Mining - Web and T II Shop

Doesn't put us at a direct disadvantage in game, it just basically says that instead of having to work for any good things, people can just pay some extra cash and fast track past everyone else who started in the few months before who didn't get this option.
And no, buying a second account is NOT a viable option. I paid for my single account, and there were no options like this. It would also ruin the integrity of Eve if people could do this.

The platinum plan suggested by the OP isn't enough.
What would it cost to buy my way into the best ship - preferably something that no one else has, and no one can counter. I also want my own system...with an upgrade buy-in option for extending into my own region. I want a t-shirt that says "I won EVE" as part of the package.

Ooo, now THAT would be a package! Add automatically fueled large towers and outposts, and NPCs that attack everyone but you and spawn like, dreads, titans, battleships, everything so you never have to worry. Oh, and have every ore type around a 100% refinery

Hello FatBloke,
This game already caters to the cash-rich, time-poor players by being the only game AFAIK to offer real-time skill training. This at least allows skills to be equal regardless of whether you're on 24 hours a day or 5 hours a week.
If you're looking for ISK, this game offers that too with the ability to sell time cards for ISK. In either case, such a plan would be an overall bad idea, especially to players such as me who have barely enough money to afford one account.

Yep. Allowing player trading for RL$ is a better idea if you want to go this route.
