The question is Raven or Scorp for 2 player PVE.. and what setup to use...
Here is a general background.... I have been trying to decide weither to get a Raven or Scorp for PVE with my friend... He is going to get an armageddon and go for a full DPS + armor tank. I'm a missile user so I'm gonna stick with missiles. We're going to mainly be ratting in .0-.2 space and maybe doing L3-4 missions when we get them.
Would the scorp or raven be better as a backup and in general... The advantages I can see with the raven is.. I can "maybe" setup a passive tank (which I cannot figure out how to setup) and some cruise launchers and just deal DPS from range (150km).. and tank if need be The scorp, gets about 80km range.., but has ECM.. with is infinitly more helpful if someone tries to gank us.. because I can just ECM and we can kill or.. ECM and run away >_>... or with either setup you can ECM an entire rat spawn at a belt... But.. the scorp does not seem to have too big of a tank. It seems rather flimsy IF it gets hit.
Raven High 4xCruise/Siege, 2x350 Rails (w/tungsten), 2xAssaults w/Defender... Low 5xPDU IIs.. Med 5xLarge Shield Ext II 1xSensor Booster II
Scorp General setup would be High 2 425mm railguns, 2 cruise, 2 heavy. Low 2x1600mm plates, Large Armor repairer, capacitor power relay. Med all 4 racial ECM II... 2 multiECM II... ECCM gravimetic, target painter if no pvp danger.. 5 mob specific ECM II, 2 cap rechargers, painter
If I could get an opinion of, What ship would be better for 2 player PvE when you already have a tank..Also, if you have a better setup for which ship you chose.

6 siege or cruise on the raven
on a scorp go eitehr full shield tank ot lots of target painters, ECM is usually better used in PvP

Raven hands down... Wouldn't use a Scorp for anything but PvP, simply not enough damage output to deal with complex PvE.

My caracal can solo 4/10s with a full rack of heavies... how could a BS with siege or cruise not keep up?

If you have good EW skills the Scorp is a great ship to rat hunt in. Its alot more fun than just turning on your tank and shooting
I use 4 crusies 1 hvy nos 1 tactor beam 1 AB 1 sensor booster and 6 racial jammers 2 BCU 1 damage control and a med armour rep
the med rep is not to tank just repair as you warp out

As back up you will rarely get hit, so fit a passive tank with as much cap recharge for him
with 6 cruise, you can do plenty damage at the same time.
If recharge is the main thing and damage not, the scorp is better, I ran alot of missions with scorp shield transport back up, the scorp could run 2 large indefinately.

Wheres your tank? This setup wont get you thru a lvl 4 and some lvl 3's. You must warp out alot! ____________________________

Never run missions with it mainly 0.0 rating have used it in a complex a few times where in supoort it works well being able to instanly 'kill' 3 BS can be a big help.
I very rarely warp out at all, this morning I took on 3 1.4 mill angels with this set up without a problem.
The tank is in the EWar a ship that can not target you can not hurt you. The damage control and the normal shield recharge deal with any short gap in the jamming.

It couldn't keep up for 2 reasons - first Cruise & Torps do less damage to frigates and cruisers and second because you can't take a BS into a 4/10 complex.
If you set up a Scorpion to tank it can have a crazy shield tank (better than the Raven). For general NPCing though, I'd choose the Raven - it has a great combination of damage to BSs and tankability.
The Scorp can be a lot better in PVP though, depending on the situation.
