Edited by: Karmic on 16/02/2006 15:55:50 It has been a fun year for the most part and if all goes well the next 12 months should be even more exciting and explosive than the first.
As always it has and will be amazing fun flying with all the pilots in the MC.
Also thanks to all well wishers and to all our potential targets/employers the game wouldn't be as fun without you .

After reading the first posts I found a new dimension to MC ive never see before.
Almost had a tear in my eye at afew moments, call me soppy etc, but its nice to see that some alliances and corps are just that close and know that every member adds to the whole.
I hope the MC continues to prosper and remain as close as ever :)
Being a merc is just like every other job in eve, sure u can get a bad name if u make it personal, but being "guns for hire" with a profesional touch as uve demonstrated is just commendable.

Yay and Happy Birthday to us! I'm still amazed that someone as bad at PvP:ing as me is allowed to fly with some of EVE:s finest
Most fun I had all year: Seleene misunderstanding where the rest of the MC fleet was and jumping a lone Raven into an Imp fleet (in Agil I think?). Thankfully he got out, with his ass on fire...the TS recording is at the end of one of the MC vids.
or possibly
Timon too drunk to be flying a Raven and claiming "Yes, I can warp to gate." when Sel asked if he was sober enough to PvP. I was gang-warped to a safe and made to log...
Much love for you all

/me wipes tear from eye...
It seems like just yesterday Seleene came to EV as a young pilot, eager to learn the vast expansion of the world of Eve and now she's all grown up...
Heh congrats to MC and Seleene

gongrats MC
was 8 months or so of amazing fun to fly with you all. Best war had to be the FOE war with fights every single night you just logged on and were straight into a battle. Funniest memory was hygalac drunk warping his typhoon into the enemy blob while talking german on ts!!
keep on kicking ass for the years ahead guys

As one of BDCI's, and still indeed one of the Mercenary Coalition's newest recruits, I thought it necessary to share a few thoughts of mine as to how me being in the MC came about, and my perception of the MC with regards to my own experiences in the last few months of my ride.
For roughly two years I flew as part of the Curatores Veritatis Alliance, as a Director within what is arguably the game's most famous roleplay Organisation - PIE Inc, fighting against Matari Terrorists, Pirates and others whom wished to jump in on the fame of "Destroying the great PIE Inc." (which failed, PIE is as strong now as it has ever been).
However, after two years, it reached a stage last summer whereby (as most Corporations do over summer periods) - members dropped off due to IRL, and activity across the board decreased. The leadership in place at the time were tired, and needed a break after 2 years of stalward defence of the Empire. A friend of mine, and a face recognised somewhat across the Universe - Golan Trevize, departed PIE and joined BodyCount Inc. He asked me at the time, and many more over the following months, to join him in his venture, and for many months, I declined, in favour of remaining within the CVA and combatting piratical behaviour in Providence.
At the end of October, I was given the lucky priviledge of visiting the Fanfest, and one of the first people whom I met in the Data Center was that of Seleene. My first thoughts of Seleene were nothing more than a "nice guy, like the videos" approach, and I thought nothing more of it until a couple of days later. During the PVP Tournament, I ran back into Seleene talking with Eyeshadow, and a few others (OmberZombie was present I believe), and I had the opportunity to hear first-hand with regard to the past, the present, and indeed the future of the Mercenary Coalition. The guy knew what he wanted, he knew when he wanted it, and he was a great guy to listen to. He had an aspiration, and the rest of the Mercenary Coalition wanted to follow in that dream. I spoke to him later that day and mentioned briefly that Golan thought I would be a good candidate to apply - but I believe Seleene fell under the impression of me as a "BDCI Fanboi", like the hundreds of others whom were present at the fanfest. He told me to speak to Draximus - which I did later that day from the Computers in the Data Center. During the PVP tournament at the Fanfest I was fairly lucky - both in terms of whom I faced and the tactics I put out on show - During the course of the day I vanquished a Moa, a Thorax and a Maller in the preliminary rounds of the tournament, whilst piloting the only Arbitrator used in the whole event. I switched out to a Caracal to defeat a Rupture piloted by a well-known EVE 'celeb', again comfortably coming through, and I heard more than one whisper in the background of people saying "who is this guy?" and "he roleplays? and can pvp? omg". As I said, luck had a lot to do with it, but I reached the Semi-Finals, and stood against the somewhat infamous Shin Ra of Burn Eden - I lost, fairly heavily, both due to pilot error and bad choices, although some revenge was attained in a straight up Thorax vs. Thorax fight afterwards, During the fights I heard Seleene and a few others from the MC + friends corner yelling advice, and my parting comment that evening to Seleene was "I'm still interested btw".
A couple of weeks later, and a heavy questionning through BDCI's application process, I emerged a BDCI recruit with alot of very positive feedback - and I joined midway through the 5 / -V- contracts at the end of the year. A very heavy contract to settle in to, but I believe my performance was positive. Eyeshadow played a major role in helping me settle in - both in allowing me a little freedom to get accustomed to the way different fleets run ops, (continued)

but also on a couple of occassions of bringing himself many jumps to tip the tables whilst I was baiting enemies out in Empire - the most notable of which turned from being a Thorax/Malediction (both myself) versus an Apoc/Wolf/Scorpion into a battle where the Apoc escaped on 1% structure, and the Scorpion ceased it's existance in a bloody explosion. For the first time in 6-8 months, I felt at home.
BDCI, FRICK, NSN, -TC- - all famous corps in their own right, all with direction, all with grit determination and iron resolve, but also the finest assortment of pilots/pvpers/fleet commanders, but more importantly - people - in the game.
This bit goes out to BDCI though - to Seleene, to Draximus, and to the likes of Cowboy/Tov/Siv and everybody else.
You made EVE fun for me again, that I cannot repay :)
(Thanks for reading - I know it's been long, but it's from the heart :))
To another year in the MC - in my eyes the greatest establishment in EVE.
P.S. Seleene, can we PLEASE get more red blinkies soon???

I would not know where to start or what to say to make the rest of you truely understand just how much I love being a member and a part of MC, or how proud I am to be carrying that MC tag.
I have been a part of this family for 10 months, never have I looked back or regret my choise to join.
Still to this day I get chocked over just how close we are, how we are so much more then an alliance but honestly a family. When rl is hell you can rest assure that there will always be someone in MC there, talking to you, listening and understanding.
Most of you will probably need a bucket or two if I go into just how much the MC members mean to me. So I wont, instead I hope you can understand just how valuble an alliance like this is, how rare and how fricking amazing it is.
Our pilots are awesome, both solo and in a team. We do misakes too but the best part is that we can all laugh at them. I even think it is good when we get an ass whopping, gets us to our toes again
Thank you for allowing me into the family I today hold so dear <3
