hmmm wow nice guide except there was absolutly no USEFULL information in it AT ALL. Basically you took one principle and that was start out with a lot of money. Well in the business world... it takes money to make money, and when you have a lot it isnt that hard. Plus when all you do is spend your time buying up items and then selling them its easy to double your cash.

Quote: Procurement is similar to daytrading; it allows you to place remote buy orders. Once procurement is to 5, you have full regional range and can place a buy order in any station in the region. What good is that? Well what if you put up an order for 10 armor hardeners and then left the station to go pick up some of your items in other systems. All of the sudden someone sells 10 hardeners to you and your order is gone! Quantity of order cannot be modified with daytrading, nor can duration or range. Daytrading can only change the price of an order. So once you see your buy order disappear, you have to go all the way back to that system to place another buy order, right? No! Simply use procurement and you can place a buy order in your desired station. Why not just dock where you are and set up a buy order right there? Well, you can, but if you are trading in multiple regions it will get confusing very quickly when you see 15 different systems as the hosts of your buy orders, and can't recall which is in which region. Procurement has one downside: buy orders placed with procurement have a range of station-only. That is where visibility comes in handy.
as far as i'm concerned this skill is broken past lvl 2. At level two you are allowed to be in a solar system and not docked and be able to set a buy order at any of the stations. After lvl 2 your supposed to gain more jumps, but this is not the case currently i have found no possible way to set a buy order at a station that is 1 jump away or more.

Rens I have one question about what your doing... your basically setting up buy orders, then your setting up sell orders after u have the item... but at the same station? and your expecting somone to come over and pick up the order at a lower price, like a producer or something, now tell me why is a producer gonna go to a place that is not a hub and buy up this item? when they can set their own buy order in their hub, most of the time buyers are not going to be away from a hub because then how are they gonna sell their ships? the turnover rate is thus slowed to levels that are unnacceptable.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about but procurement and visibility dont work.. i have procurement up to lvl 4 its doesnt do anything that it says it does past lvl 2, or i havnt found a way, I dont have visibility but if you guys are saying it depends on having procurement then visibility is totally useless right now.

As I dont have visibility I cant really comment but I can assure you procurement does not work the way you say... unless there is some invisible force at work here.
Quote: Procurement affects the range at which you are able to set remote buy orders, and the area of effect for local buy orders. You can only set buy orders where the item you want to buy is being sold. For example Procurement 3 will let you place a buy order at a station 10 jumps from your current location, provided that the item you want is for sale at that station.
now what im not understanding here is how my avatar without Procurement is able to set a full regional range buy order. My Alt does indeed have procurement and it works exactly the same way as far as I can tell. I recently set a buy order with full regional range with my avatar that does NOT have procurement and it filled 20 jumps away

lol so ya i rest my case... procurement does not work past lvl 2, because at lvl 2 you are able to pick a station within a system and set a buy order there.

u know what erok... i am seriously getting made at procurement and visibility everyone offers their own opinion to it and i have my own... it doesnt work as intended past lvl 2, and what makes me even more disgruntled is that the person.... who trimed this thread didnt even feel it was necessary to provide a little bit of information. I seriously think even the devs cant figure out what the heck they wanna do with it, so they are just waiting until somone has a good idea so they can snatch it.
