Hi,
there is a memory leak happneing. When i run the client for a few hours the game starts to run slower and slower. On my cheapest machine with 2 gig ram the game bogs down after around 3 hours of gameplay. On my best machine it acutally takes around 5 to 7 hours (depending on what i do in game).
Is anyoneelse having this problem? I was about to post my system specs but since this problem is happening on all of my machines i guess it doesn't have anything to do with my systems.

This has been on going for quite some time now there are old threads about it , sorry I am to lazy to look for and link them. It does not look like it is a priority or easy to fix though or I am guessing that it would have already been solved.
At the moment I am using the only work around that I know of which is to relog when possible as soon as I notice the slow down. . |

We get reports of memory leaks every now and then, but it's hard for us to fix them without a repro case so we can work out what is leaking. From statistics we gather from the clients we don't see a widespread issue with memory leaks - that doesn't mean there are specific scenarios where a leak is occurring.
If you notice any specific pattern in your gameplay that seems to trigger a leak, a detailed bug report, preferably with logs attached may give us enough information to track this down. See https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bug_reporting for more details.
We do monitor memory usage in mass tests before releasing new updates and we keep an eye on memory usage statistics on the live server, but unfortunately some memory leaks may still slip through from time to time. |

It doesn't seem like an actual leak, more like the game cache brings freezes. I have that issue as well, clearly seen after ~7 hrs of playtime and I'm using 7 clients simultaneously. |

With all settings on high, I have started getting low memory warnings and never got those before. 8 gig of system ram and a 2 gig GTX 550TI video card. |

This isn't a new issue ... infact it's an old issue ever since Odyssey. There's pseudo leak somewhere that just bogs down the entire client, with various slowdown effects.
For example (not limited to) : - active window closes noticeably slower - changing laser crystals feels like its in TiDi - jump graphics stutters - everything you do is laggy
The only way to fix the above is to relog. It's gotten so commonplace that sometimes the entire (incursion) fleet relogs at various times after a few hours - different people, different continents, different machines. It's funny that CCP isn't even vaguely aware of this ..... are they actually playing this game?
P.S Nope, sorry I cba to bug report this. There's bound to be at least one report by someone on this in your bug reporting system already.

I had the same problem. I might have a fix: Try setting the directx version to directx9 (just EVE will run version9, other games won't)
How? in the EVE launcher on the top right click the "cog-wheel" settings menu > DirectX tab > set to DirectX9
My specs should run EVE on directX11 full setting w/o problems, yet it doesnt, all other games it runs just fine. 2 x 4GB Kingston 1800 CL9 memory 2 x GTX 660Ti Graphics.
Yet, I got a msg from windows ever 30 minutes that memory was low... - tested my memory using Memtest86+ - upped the swapfile for more virtual memory (EVE can never run 8+GB - reinstalled Win7 and EVE no avail.
Hopefully it stays this way now.

Seem I got the same kind of issues... guess it's memory related since it started around the same time windows started to give me warning about low memory...
Running Windows 7 64bits Intel core 2 duo 3.00ghz 3GB of RAM GTX 460 (latest drivers in)
The problem is in-game windows (market, orders, etc) simply disappear.
Only seem to happen while in station.
When it happen, I alt-tab in and out of the game and the windows are back... only for them to disappear 30min later...
Tried clearing my cache... didn't work.
Any help? |

I will say it has gotten bett(er) over the last year or so, it used to be the client (on EVERY system i ran it on) would occasionally double its RAM footprint within a few hours.
CCP has never really been good at checking this it seems. They might be better now, but their track record is dismal at best. But when my client starts out taking ~800m then through the course of a few hours jumps to 1.5g something is wrong. And again, it was on every system i ever played Eve on. Which makes me doubt it was a specific single case issue. |

We have been able to reproduce an apparent memory leak in Nvidia drivers in our engine stress tests. It seems this often ends with parts of the UI disappearing, but sometimes it also clears up before that starts happening, memory use drops down, then starts building up again.
We are working with Nvidia to figure this out - either we're doing something wrong and they can point us in the right direction, or they have a bug in the driver and will fix that.
In the meantime, we have found that changing a setting in the Nvidia Control Panel (under Manage 3D settings) helps in most cases - change 'Maximum pre-rendered frames' to 1, instead of the default.
There may of course be other leaks lurking around, but please give this a try if you're plagued by high memory use. |

Might be interesting to note that in the recent battle in HED-GP, I experienced a huge increase in memory usage, resulting in heavy swapping (upwards of 150 hard page faults/s), rendering all clients eventually completely unresponsive (fortunately after the battle was won by us).
I was at the time running four clients, on an AMD Radeon 7970. 12 GB of RAM. Each client reported upwards of 3.7 gigs of memory usage, with about 1-1.5 gigs each swapped out. Relogging the clients brought the memory usage down to a manageable 700-900 MB each.
If this is related, it may be the case that there is a memory leak that is not related to the Nvidia drivers, as I've been running Radeon graphics card exclusively on that machine for the past few years. |

had a same issue past weekend which made my part as a Logi pilot mearely impossible considering the 5 minute locking time and 2 minute time to get even a single module running on top of TiDi. To bad I didn't had the logserver running. after a while, the clock of the client got stuck and didn't even moved, it was 21:46 for at least a hour long untill I decided to drop the client and switch toons.
But from my expirience and what I could notice was that my CPU was stable at around 85% but I had a physical memory use of 2.2Gb by exefile.exe only which usually stalls at around 750mb. .EC.. of [TOHA], Industrialists with guns. To fix memory leak issue (at least for me) you have to switch from DX11 to DX9.
When I first purchased eve in November I had the issue for 2 weeks. Have 8 gigs of RAM and slowly it would eat it up till 6.5 and crash computer.
I found a thread somewhere that said to go into setting in your launcher and change the direct x to version 9 and it worked.
Hopefully this helps because I had NO help in the steam forums. |

Hopefully this helps because I had NO help in the steam forums. We seem to be running into a memory leak in the Nvidia driver - they have a repro case from us and are looking into it. We have a workaround in the upcoming patch next week - hopefully that'll address this until Nvidia releases a new driver.
In the meantime, we have found that changing a setting in the Nvidia Control Panel helps in most cases - change 'Maximum pre-rendered frames' to 1, instead of the default. |

Er, where is that on a Mac? Do you mean the "Interval" setting in the eve esc menu?

I'm sure it's quite possible we have more leaks so I don't expect this Nvidia issue to explain all memory leaks.
I don't know if there is a Mac version of the Nvidia control panel - it's outside of EVE - in Windows you get to it from the Control Panel in the Start menu (or right-click on the desktop). |

Same here, only DX11. 1 frame render ahead didn't fixed it.
Creating a schortcut with the "/noconsole /triPlatform=dx9" did for now.

EVE had been crashing on me after I bought a brand new machine in November with an Nvidia Card (my old PC used Radeon) After playing for a while, the system was giving me an error saying windows recovered from a graphics card error. If I dual boxed, it was a matter of when, not if it would crash. It was near unplayable. Even after the recovery the entire machine was choppy - even navigating through windows. I thought it was my computer because another game was doing the same thing to it. After switching from Directx11 to Directx9 this has fixed my problem, I have not crashed since . Seems the problem is rooted in directx11 and the nvidia drivers.
I can provide specs to my computer if it will help troubleshoot.
Thanks. |

Im on Linux running with Wine 1.7.10-csmt and 1.7.13. I also experience leaking. The thing is that i cannot reproduce it, it just happens when sitting at station at jita while playing market pvp or when the client just idles. Had issues with client running at 3GiB and everything in client memory not drivers.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I opened EVE on my Hackintosh:
i7 Mavericks 16GB RAM nVidia GTX760
I noticed that it runs fine for me (I haven't run much longer than 30 minutes or so), if I open ISIS ship diagram, then after about 5 - 10 minutes it starts really effecting the overall FPS of my client. Normally running at around 50 - 60 FPS, it starts to drop after a bit. Let me know if you'd like me to test it a bit more, I would like my mac client to work so I can play without resetting into my Windows partition each time I want to play. |

So, this seems to happen in Fullscreen mode only (strange, right?). I've been running windowed, and left it in ISIS for a while and it averages between 50 & 60FPS. |

I've been having this problem since the last patch. A few minutes after logging on, I begin to notice a slow increase in memory usage as I play. I do a fair bit of exploration and it appears to increase only when I jump into a new system. So far the only thing to resolve it is to restart the client.
