Hey there. Bit of a noob here, so forgive me for any silly mistakes. I've been going around low and nullsec for a bit doing relic and data sites. I've also found a fair few combat sites (No idea what they were, I don't know what the names mean yet) and just ignored them. However, I've read my way to the understanding that I can do these sites and at the end, I might get some really valuable loot?
If that's the case, is there a ship I could fit to both do these combat sites in lowsec and NPC nullsec and still run relic and data sites? So far I've just been exploring in a little frigate, but I'd like to know what I should be working towards. I've seen Ishtar fits for low/null exploring, but those seem to -only- be geared for the combat sites and not the relic/data sites at all. I've come up with a fit myself, but I'd love to hear if this is even feasible to do at all, and if it is, what ship/fit I should use. I'm not a billionaire so nothing too exorbitant, please. :)
Hardeners will obviously be specific to whichever rats the NPC nullsec I go to has.
[Ishtar, Null Combat Explorer] Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Medium Armor Repairer II
Cap Recharger II Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I Relic Analyzer II Data Analyzer II Cargo Scanner II
Prototype Cloaking Device I Small 'Solace' Remote Armor Repairer Salvager I Core Probe Launcher I, Core Scanner Probe I
Medium Drone Control Range Augmentor I Medium Sentry Damage Augmentor II
Garde II x5 Warrior II x10 Garde II x5
Not really sure which drones to take spares of, either. |

CCP is solving this question forever with the new mobile depot. This is something explorers before you have had to worry about for years, but never again.
wait one day, purchase mobile depot, refit hacking/data/scanning mods for combat mods once you find combat site.
For combat, change the drone control range rig for a tanking rig, definitely upgrade to a t2 improved cloak, add a drone link augmenter but leave it offline or un-fit while you're probing stuff down.
For drones, take 5x gardes, 5x long-range drone (wardens vs serp/guri, bouncers for angel, curator for blood/sansha/drones) then I like 5 medium ec-600s, 5x warriors, 5x hobgoblins, 5x salvage drones. This puts you at 375.
Carry an extra garde with you and you can use the new mobile depot to add them to drone bay. In the past i've gone without the EC drones or one of the flights of lights to give me a 6th sentry in each group because believe it or not, if you fly an ishtar long enough you WILL lose sentries. And finishing a plex 1 sentry down is a real pain. Fighting is Magic |

Solo all-in-one fits are out of vogue right now because the bonuses to hacking you get from covops and the like are just too useful, especially in null. If you don't mind dropping a significant number of cans, an Ishtar will definitely do the trick BUT you will have to refit it for combat. Lucky for you, starting tomorrow you can carry your own mobile refitting station around with you.
Also starting tomorrow a Stratios might do the trick up to 7/10s in most space.
Otherwise you're looking at a T3, again with the possibility of refitting on the fly at a yurt. One fit will be for travel and include a probe scanner and hacking gear, the other fit will be for combat.
Edit: I'm too slow. Mobile depots are indeed the answer either way. |

Any chance you can help with the combat fit a little? Even leaving a high slot open on an All V character, this is pushing the limit. Not really sure what to fit in the mids, either. I usually fly turret boats, but this obviously isn't one. More Cap Recharge is pointless, since it's already cap stable with 2xhardener + repper + SeBo running. This is what I've been trying to go for:
[Ishtar, Combat Explorer] Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Explosive Hardener II Medium Armor Repairer II
Cap Recharger II Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I Omnidirectional Tracking Link I Omnidirectional Tracking Link I Sensor Booster II, Targeting Range Script
Prototype Cloaking Device I Small 'Solace' Remote Armor Repairer Drone Link Augmentor I [empty high slot]
Medium Anti-Explosive Pump II Medium Sentry Damage Augmentor II
Garde II x5 Bouncer II x5 Vespa EC-600 x5 Warrior II x5 Hobgoblin II x5 Salvage Drone I x5 |

I assume a Tengu would be best out of the T3s? And I assume I'd swap subsystems depending on combat or relic/data? |

t3s with yurts are going to be pretty damn awesome. I'm considering buying a few yurts and taking the first WH to deep null I can find. Except to blood space. Never blood space. Fighting is Magic |

Thank you, I'll get a yurt and try that out some time. Due to isk concerns, I think I'll stick to the Ishtar too, even though a T3 is tempting. It's just too expensive. |

The named depots will likely not be on the market much the first days. Only BPC drops from the ghost sites, so seeding a market with that takes time. |

If you're doing sites against Guristas, an Astero can handle up to the Guristas 4/10 and still have a full exploration fit. Depending on how much it costs, it can be quite an efficient ship. |

Would you be willing to post or mail me your fit for the Astero please? www.crossingzebras.com |
