EVE Online: Rubicon, the 20th free expansion for EVE Online, has been successfully deployed!
Rubicon brings the rebalancing of a number of ship classes, along with a whole host of new features including four new mobile structures, new ghost sites, Sisters of EVE faction ships, player owned high-security customs offices, warp acceleration changes, the Interbus Ship Identification System, a new character selection screen and improvements to the fleet interface.

A new level of detail system for textures has been implemented in this expansion. It shouldn't be jarring, and should help your clients run a little smoother, but if you encounter issues you think might be bugs, please feel free to document and report them. |

You should be able to adjust this using the Texture Quality and LOD Quality settings in the Graphic Content Settings panel of the ESC-menu's Display & Graphics tab.
Please use an appropriate setting for your hardware. |

This should resolve the blurry textures issue, but be aware that if you now experience performance issues you will need to set LOD quality back to medium or low to reduce the loaded texture memory.

Windows 7 64 - reinstalled everything - never had an eve problem launching before.

Yeah the first issue is how the client currently handles systems that haven't loaded yet. It's not ideal (before you would get a "You are trying to get to system Y but it has not yet loaded, please try again" message) and we will be making changes to improve this.

The lag is there for a very long time, maybe since the Beginning. But User Interface is more slow since Odyssey, it's more laggy, buttons respond with more sensible delays etc. Yep I will def agree but also say it's more slow all around with this release or at least on my sytem. This is actually working as intended, as the new component system that was built for the deployables doesn't support them having a name unless they are in space. I don't have a guaranteed solution immediately, but try selecting DX9 from the launcher options before starting the client and see if your frame rate goes back up to normal. DX11 is purposefully feature-identical to DX9 right now, so if that helps your framerate, you can keep it there until we iron out all of the kinks.

nope wednesday fix did not fix the flickering.... has the fix been delayed? No, the fix did go out, but we were never able to repro this inhouse so the fix was based on assumptions on what might be going on. Guess we'll have to keep looking! |
