I like this idea. Is it possible for a new person like me to contribute? |

Entire thing reads like a poorly disguised corp ad. Maybe this post should be moved to the right forum (GD is not it). .. when everything else is gone .. |

I strongly feel you have misinterpreted it. What you have not gleaned from my typing style is that all we are doing at the moment is securing the area so that we can have people from hi sec living here under their own corp or alliance. Once the area is secure we can then have serious hi-sec dwellers come down here and seed the market with trillions of isk worth of stuff so that other people can come here and purchase everything needed in order to make a living for themselves. Market follows demand. In order to have demand, you need people (apparently hisec people), and to get people you need infrastructure that is typically alliance and corp based (read: SOV). I get that you and your friends are good combat pilots, and that's wonderful but that hasn't been enough to light up your so-called market in 0.0.
Maybe you haven't read your own thread, but when I started EVE I posted in this thread because it seemed like a cool thing you guys were doing. I even asked how I could come and join. Eventually, it made more sense to go join Brave because Brave seemed to be successful at doing what you guys have been "talking" about doing here: creating pockets for newbies to run around in, get people migrating to null, having a virtuous cycle of industry, market, PVP, PVE in the (relatively) interruption free form that it exists in hisec (whether this is true of hisec is debatable, of course).
I get the feeling that you're trying to accomplish what null alliances do, without actually having an alliance (which unites people, creates a social atmosphere, much needed drama cynos, etc.), or aggressively pushing SOV (which, while boring.. also creates the opportunity for PVE windfalls which you can't get without SOV).
Quote:If you have bothered to do any research on this you will see that my corp numbers remain exactly the same as they was when I first started this thread, it is crystal clear to see that I am not doing this to gain more corp members wouldn't you agree? The reason why I characterize this thread as a corp ad is not because you may actively be recruiting. It's because the thread looks like the typical ghost town corp thread where one or two guys reply to each other and try to get people excited about whatever it is they want to do in EVE. It's either a "My EVE" story, or a corp ad. I don't particularly care if the thread is moved. I'm fine with it in GD. My comment is more about what the thread looks like.
You've been grinding through this thread for six months, and I have read every post.. but it's not really clear to me what you've accomplished. I'm sure your intentions are virtuous. The enthusiasm, however, seems to be localized to yourself and a couple others.
Quote:In-fact this is the complete opposite of a corp/alliance recruitment add, this is a revolution. The SOV system works. People complain about it because it is so effective (at keeping its knives pointed outward, while providing a safe environment for rentbears and blues).
You could, of course, respond with more defensive statements.. but why not respond to what I'm actually asking you. Why not make an alliance? Why not grind SOV? Why not actually make this a recruitment thread and get people pumped up about joining you in null?
This.. "you can swing by our 0.0 pad if you want" thing is.. about as motivational as watching my cat snooze on top of the sofa.
I have a decent bit of know-how about building things and hauling supplies into null. I wish my RL didn't have such a stranglehold on my schedule, otherwise I'd offer you my time and effort. .. when everything else is gone .. |

Y'all may want to tone down the political/economic talk if you want this thread to survive.

Herzog Wolfhammer wrote:I still insist that the biggest turnoff in Eve is this "fatal funnel/chokepoint" travel feature. I think it could be argued, by some, that this is one of the most fun-nest features of EVE.
Surely CCP is fundamentally aware of the geography of New Eden that creates these chokepoints. Would you say that the design is completely intentional? The Muppets: P+Špc++rn (thanks Ria!) |
