point taken and accepted. It's a valid point. But when I undocked in Amamake it took me 2 seconds if not less. Rens however took me a bit longer because of the drones and ships that were there. Once there decision was made to a less full system to test it there.
But yeah, if loading screen happened while undocking, sorry to hear then. ---

Edited by: Kay Thxbye on 20/02/2006 09:39:11 I've haven't seen much from the 'event'. After a rather easy dominix kill with auto-tempest, I learned to know the jamming&nos'ing dominix that engaged me in 1-on-1 and never let me get a target-lock before I died ... or the vagabonds that seemed not impressed at all by being nos'ed, webbed and being shot at with my dual 650mm tech-2. ( I tried to take revenge with t2 dual 425mm against the vagabonds, because of better tracking, but right after undocking I ran into an apoc and a mega that killed my cap and then me ) Now I'm frustrated about solo-pvp in a tempest, because I've no idea what to make better, but at least these ship losses didn't cost me anything.

was on the server last night. I lost my navy mega to a S******dly and Contraband Gate camp at the gate to Oursulaert because i didn't know it was a free for all. ohh, well **** happends. Clonejumped back and got my pvp mega and fought myself back to oursulaert loosing the mega on the last jump, in a exellent fight. was fun.
BUT then out came the 10 year old stupid idiots that sat outside the station in oursulaert where the 100 isk equipment was. No less than 4 dreadnoughts and countless BS sat there and ganked everything that undocked. I understand that this probably was the only way they could get som kills but they destroyed the whole testingpart for the rest. yes it was a free for all, but atleast it would have been nice to be able to undock before getting killed.

The station gankers did their job really. The fact that you can undock in a dreadnaught, get a black screen and then appear in a pod shows that there is still a hell of a lot of work for ccp to do. Hardware helps but only so much.
My observation was that after the first undock - which took a hell of a long time - subsequent undocks took much less.
I had great fun - lost three Moros in an evening :)
Although there was still some lag in the battles it was much more playable than currently in similar circumstances.
I hope CCP got some great data from the fun we all had.

That was huge fun. I was bimbling around Perimeter in raven, and turkey shooting. The fact that outside the station there must have been 100+ ships, not to mention rather a lot of cans and drones, and it was still eminently playable I feel speaks well for the new hardware.
Getting 'nerfbatted' by a leviathan hurt though :).
I didn't see much podding happening, but at the gates around Jita there was a huge running rampage.
I never thought that gate ganking could be such fun... :)
And I saw several notes about not podding (I'd have been vaguely annoyed at the hardship of having to clone jump back) but definitely none that said no ship killing. -- We are recruiting

You can thanks that message that popped up during actual TQ play that more or less stated that "Empire had been turned to 0.0", which was just asking to be abused really. I laughed, closed it and carried on playing.
And just how are you supposed to stress test a new server without maximum load on it? (answer <> throw loads of NPC's on there) ___________

Edited by: Inspiration on 20/02/2006 10:42:19 Had great fun to, I never PvP, but my 10+ billion mission machariel held out very well against multiple opponents. In the end i was ganked by 5 ships tho (due to electronic warfare i might add), 3 of which were battleships and one of them a carrier. Still held out at least 4 minustes :), which I think is good.
I would never have tested that TQ as it took nearly a year to aquire, but all things come to an end. Had great fun, loved it. I hope the test proved useful for CCP as well, if not, get me my machariel back and I do it all over again ;) with pleasure.

So CCP gives you lots of isk, really cheap modules and ships, invites you onto their new server cluster for a once in a lifetime experience and STILL we have people whining to the forums.
I despair. I really really despair.

To the OP: It was a test.
They wanted stress on the new hardware - big fights create that. Or were you hoping to run a few courier missions? They adjusted the security rating to 0.0 to facilitate as much chaos as possible. It worked!
And, hell - you got a billion ISK and everthing on the market was 100isk. Who cares if you get blown up a million times? Its all good. I hope its running tonight.
I had great fun. Some excellent fleet engagements and great 1v1's using setups I wouldnt normally risk in PvP. Nice one.

Its was all overall good fun.! 1 time experience. Will take ages before they gonna setup this again :P

While it was generally great fun, the ganking of players trying to undock from allocated equipping stations simply stopped people from joining the fight. I wasted 8/10 of the time trying to refit several Tempests only to undock and immediately end up in an egg. My (and many other peoples') time would have been better utilised dying while actually in combat , and quickly being able to get a new ship to add to the stress test.
eejuts!

As has been pointed out in this thread, this was a test, where we changed everything to 0.0 in empire to encourage people to come over and experience some reckless fighting in what is usually your safe home.
Everything on the market was set at 100 ISK to allow you to easily recouperate the losses you encounter and you were provided with the ISK to buy it, so from that perspective, there was no death penalty except of course the time it takes to get you back into a ship.
Podding was indeed not allowed, as was broadcasted around the servers. For those that were not big enough to wait for people to undock before attacking, I think the fact that they don't dare to wait for an evenly matched opponent to fully undock says everything about the courage of that person.
Heck, even the people attacking me had the decency to wait while I spawned a new ship and gave me time to fit. Now that's something to respect and that says everything about their courage.
In any case, the test was a success, we got almost 5000 people to play on the test server, which was what we intended. We're going to do it again tonight.
I look forward to meeting honorable opponents which show respect for their enemies and as a result, gain my respect. For those of you who are not so honorable, I hope you never encounter me tonight.

looking forward to some fun - as a side note there is a real fear of a fare fight a lot of players avoid it at all costs ie attackign before fully undocked or just plain greifer tactics (wont be specific but just in general its a shame) but all gameplay approachs are valid as long as they aint exploits happy fighting folks

You should try it some time...totally hilarious, and the person who mentioned it is totally right, the best way to test out the server is large scale fleetbattles. We had 5-6 in the space of an hour in New Caldari before finally being polished off by a F-E/PA gang (errr!?) twice our size.

OMG what a bunch of ******* whining little buggers.
This was a special event last night and everyone who was on it should have been glasd they got the chance to do that. Hell I would love it if every system would be 0.0. We all had a laugh last night.
And for the record to the OP. CCP wanted us to go nuts last night, we could kill each other till our hearts were content, sure there was podkillings, big deal, aint the end of the world, and I doubt the devs cared weather you got podded or not, just a very fun test.
Bottom line, if you dont want to fight, then head back to your little carebear ways and mine veld all day and just STFU.

And now, you see how wrong are to have a hundred times more for fitting and prepare a ship than blow up one. Of course, I love the test market despise the lousing time response, and was a pleasure to refine some dreadnoughts for fun, but podding was truly lame. And i leave the server after 10 kills without any pod, when I was die and podded first time. This retard kids have to play themselves.

If this is done again tonight, how about putting a ton of sentries around the outfitting stations? All in all the carnage was really enjoyable, but the lamers camping those stations really made it very tedious attempting to get into the real action. And simply appealing to these peoples' courage aint gunna work...

It was fun while it lasted. Then alliances ruined it. Ascn came into ikuchi, and camped the free station. Killed anyone who tried to dock or undock. So no more free ships if you die instantly to 25 battleships outside.
Then you had people pod killing as well.
Real fun ascn GG.
