We'll investigate these freeze issues - we haven't seen these inhouse, but maybe we need more testing with multiple clients.
I'll look into why the console window is showing up - I presume you are forcing DX9 by adding /triPlatform=dx9 to the command line and starting from a shortcut to exefile.exe?
You can also change the dx version in the launcher - have you tried that? |

No ideas yet - as I said earlier, we have not seen this inhouse, but we'll certainly do our best to figure this out ASAP.
Does it behave the same if you only have one client running?
Do you have any overlays, like Mumble or something? Multiboxing software? If so, please test with just the EVE client so we can rule out external factors. |

Mavis O'Day wrote:Hello, CCP Snorlax, thank U for the quick reaction. Yes, I do use that "/triPlatform=dx9" command to force start in DX9 mode. I've tried to change the DirectX version in launcher, but for the reason I don't know, it keeps launching the game in DX11 mode when I close both the launcher and the game started w/ it and try to start it w/o the launcher. I've just found it not handy to use the launcher for quick starting 7 clients, so I am usually starting it without.
Edit: I see the freezes happening after I launch more than 3 clients. Want to focus Ur attention on the fact that I'm using only one client at a time, other windows are in tray and I'm switching among them. And no, I don't have any overlays at all.
Thanks once again for Ur attention, best regards, Mavis. Adding /noconsole the command line prevents the console window from showing up. |

We have not been able to reproduce the kind of freezing you describe here, I'm afraid, and I don't really see a pattern in the reports we're getting. As mentioned, you see it on one machine, then a different machine with seemingly the same hardware setup runs just fine.
If you experience intermittent freezes, try any of the following:
- Make sure there are no overlays - just plain EVE
- Make sure your drivers are up to date
- Use fixed window, rather than windowed or full screen
- Run with DX9
Engine performance and stability are my team's main focus, and will be for the near future. We will get to the bottom of this, sooner or later. |
