Greetings, ladies and gentlemen.
Since Rubi came live, I can't launch more than 4 clients w/o having freezes. Game appears like lagging, the FPS monitor shows my framerate is above 80, but both UI and graphic animations keep freezing constantly and that messes me quite a bit. I'm not using multiple monitors or even keep multiple windowed clients open simultaneously - I open 7 windows, but have only one in fullscreen mode and others are just kept in tray and I'm switching between them. So, it's only 1 window loading my graphic card at any time. I've found the topic about forcing the game to run in DirectX9 mode and that's solved the issue, but also it's brought me one additional console window per each client and I don't like it. I'm not going to ***** about it all here, but I just want the dev team to be informed and was wondering if they could solve the issue somehow - or at least tell me please how to avoid the client starting the damn console window - having 14 windows instead of 7 in the stack messes me quite a bit.
My PC stats:
CPU: Core i7 2600K M/B: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz, CL9 VGA: GeForce GTX 660 2Gb memory, driver v. 311.06
all settings are stock, no OC.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1, classic UI, no effects besides smooth fonts
DirectX11
Thanks in advance for Ur attention and sorry if I've missed something from the threads that has been already created by other people. Looking forward for any suggestions. |

We'll investigate these freeze issues - we haven't seen these inhouse, but maybe we need more testing with multiple clients.
I'll look into why the console window is showing up - I presume you are forcing DX9 by adding /triPlatform=dx9 to the command line and starting from a shortcut to exefile.exe?
You can also change the dx version in the launcher - have you tried that? |

It does freeze with DX11 !
I use 2 clients in windowed mode and something was off, it was sluggish, pressing escape and waiting for the menu to appear took like 2 or 3 seconds.
Everytime I changed something in my settings, the screen froze and felt like the client was about to crash. It's even more visible while dual boxing and alt tabbing.
I used CTRL + F to check my FPS and I had huge drop in station without ship spinning.
I forced DX9 in the launcher and now the client feels way more responsive. No delay when pressing escape. No massive drop in station. I'm using the lastest driver for Nvidia (331.82)
Any idea why DX11 works so bad ? |

No ideas yet - as I said earlier, we have not seen this inhouse, but we'll certainly do our best to figure this out ASAP.
Does it behave the same if you only have one client running?
Do you have any overlays, like Mumble or something? Multiboxing software? If so, please test with just the EVE client so we can rule out external factors. |

Hello, CCP Snorlax, thank U for the quick reaction. Yes, I do use that "/triPlatform=dx9" command to force start in DX9 mode. I've tried to change the DirectX version in launcher, but for the reason I don't know, it keeps launching the game in DX11 mode when I close both the launcher and the game started w/ it and try to start it w/o the launcher. I've just found it not handy to use the launcher for quick starting 7 clients, so I am usually starting it without.
Thanks once again for Ur attention, best regards, Mavis. |

Same problem like in first post here. I tried DX9, DX11, cleared cache, lowered details to low and still freezing. Before Rubicon each account took less then 30% cpu, now in fight in takes about 45%, so if I play 3 accounts - it freezes. Before Rubicon 4 accounts run without problem on high details.
DX - last version gfx drivers - last version
computer: cpu: intel core i5-3470 @ 3,2 GHz ram: 8gb gfx: nvidia 660Ti hdd: SSD
Actualy I had the same problem in summer expansion. More than 1 months after I had graphic problems then you somehow repaired it. |

Thanks once again for Ur attention, best regards, Mavis. Adding /noconsole the command line prevents the console window from showing up. |

Same problem here. I frequently run 4 or 5 accounts and it would run great but now it has moderate sluggishness and graphics lag when running 4 accounts and severe graphics lag when running 5 to the point it is not playable.

Thank U, CCP Snorlax, for the /noconsole command - I'm not a sad panda anymore, appreciate Ur help and responsibility. Though, looking forward for DX11 mode fixes. |

No change at all - does not matter if on DX9 or DX11. I live in wormhole, sitting on POS cpu usage is about 18% (which is normal and was before Rubicon). But when I warp to anomaly site and start fighting, cpu usage increase to 45-50%! I put details on low/medium - no change. If I only dualbox - sound start freezing, graphic start freezing .. I repeat, before Rubicon I did not have any problem running 3-4 clients in fight, now its problem even with only two.
Just tell what you need to know from me to solve this because right now is this game unplayable for me. And running only one client is not solution, I would rather not play. And what makes me really upset is that one on my corp mates have the same graphic card like me (NVidia 660Ti) and he has no problem at all. |

We have not been able to reproduce the kind of freezing you describe here, I'm afraid, and I don't really see a pattern in the reports we're getting. As mentioned, you see it on one machine, then a different machine with seemingly the same hardware setup runs just fine.
If you experience intermittent freezes, try any of the following:
- Make sure there are no overlays - just plain EVE
- Make sure your drivers are up to date
- Use fixed window, rather than windowed or full screen
- Run with DX9
Engine performance and stability are my team's main focus, and will be for the near future. We will get to the bottom of this, sooner or later. |
