Originally by: Stalkin I must be the only one but i think i'm getting more lag today than i was yesterday. Opening up the market has got to be the worst thing i have noticed - Eve totally freezes untill the market has opened 5-10seconds later. Also gang chat lagged out and froze as does the overview still not work properly for the gang. But general flight, gate jumping etc seems to be fine.
I guess the lag you are describing is because of the patch itself. Patching clears a part of your cache, so when you load the market after applying it, it has to re-cache price history. This also applies in few other places, but should stabilze as you cache is regenerated. ------ Valar Quality assurance department CCP games How to write a good bugreport Didn't think you could escape the sig hijack monster, did ya? Originally by: Darius Shakor Out of interest, how much of a difference will Blood make to the server side performance compared to the current access patch? Did you guys sneak in the minor optimisations server side today or are they still destined for Blood?
We did not sneak in any optimizations now, only code changes we did were the IP change on the client and a few changes to the cluster administration scripts to deal with the different network setup. ------ Valar Database admin Server operations team ------ How to write a good bugreport |

Ok thanks. Do i need to clear my cache or will it happen on its own?
Your cache was automatically cleared when you patched. The lag is because your client is redownloading the previously cached data. Just play the game, and it will sort it self in no time. ------ Valar Database admin Server operations team ------ How to write a good bugreport |

I could swear additional graphics were added or activated. Especially the sun lens flare. Can you confirm or deny if any graphical improvements were added, or at least what about the rendering engine changed?
Nothing changed in the rendering engine or graphics... the only thing that changed was the IP address. ------ Valar Database admin Server operations team ------ How to write a good bugreport |

A couple of nodes went into high CPU last night, probably causing the extreme lag you are describing. This is most likely due to a bug in our code and we will look into it today.
