Like it or not, PVP is a large part of this game, you cant escape it. I dont define the parameters of how you play the game...
But if you choose to sit afk at a stargate, in a hauler loaded full of isky goodness, dont complain when my playing parameters clash with yours.
Please do not assume what my playing parameters are. In your described case we do not clash at all, for example. We even agree that pvp is only a large part of the game.
The way you put it in this post makes it sound very different from:
Originally by: Peregrine These people are nothing more to me than NPC... NPC who drop loot worth collecting.
This said about people who dont to PVP.
Originally by: Peregrine Is that the one were you talk all fancy and presume yourself better than me for doing so?
No, that's the one where you claim to play the game to its full extent and all other that do not confornt your our discribed interpretation are merely NPC's. That can also be called discrimination.

the people you are calling well devoloped, mature adults are simply people you decide to call well devoloped, mature adults because it matches with your views. as i have tried to say in my post before, people get angry about their own things. this is part of human diversity. think of it this way. could you french kiss another guy in return for an hr's pay? logically, there's no real reason why not. you either work for an hr or kiss for 5 seconds. as long as the other guys's mouth is clean, there's no logical reason you could give that isn not stupid or based on blind beliefs and whims. you don't need to know why someone is mad about something. you only need to know that it makes them mad. because this is a game, it should be treated as for fun. the question is for instance, in a game of beach volleyball, are you the guy that makes sure everyone has fun or the guy that has to get serious and says "me me me" and has to win.
But shouldn't part of being a well developed mature adult include something about not placeing your self knownly in a situation where your uncomfortable, or where your feelings could be hurt. A situation where such actions that are hurt-full to you are well within the rules, and perhaps encoraged?
Such is the case when someone signs up for eve-online and then gets mad when thier stuff is blown up. So no, there's a problem here. You do have to question someone who actually pay's to place themselves into a situation where they could be hurt.
well, i don't think getting hurt is the actual problem. if people were getting killed in 0.0 space i don't think anyone would come to these forums to complain. the problem is that people are getting killed in empire space and feel that there is a great deal of injustice in that.
it has been said that no place is eve is meant to be 100 percent safe, but that is really a very vague statement. all it means is that space in eve is not 100 percent, in other words it can be anywhere from 0-99 percent. the question is what is the actual percent ccp wants for a space like jita, and if the current rules does that percent.

Probably because you're so self-absorbed... that, or your deficient comprehension of the English language. Take your pick.

I a player decides to avoid interaction with others...
Then I'm sorry, but I see them as nothing more than an NPC. You dont have to like it, or agree with it.
Thats just the way it is. PVP != Combat btw.

Come now, a man of your fine intellect, can surely do better than that.

for one, i can't think of anyone who thinks that Washington D.C. could be considered 1.0 space.
second in washington d.c. there are no fleets of cops or federal agents that magically swoop in 3 seconds later to WtFPwN the attackers and if there were do you think they would allow some schmo that walks past afterward to reach into the truck for a bit of cash.
I think it's pretty safe to say that since concord has an instant response it was intended that piracy not be allowed in 1.0 space. ---------------------------------------- If you ain't dyin, You Ain't tryin. |
