Quote: SCC takes drastic measures against copyright infringements The Secure Commerce Commission has taken drastic measures against illegal copying of blueprints. Since the copy laws where changed recently, SCC has tracked down numerous cases where people are still using the old regulations for blueprint copying. SCC will start installing restrictions in appliance with the new laws on blueprints used in illegal copying. This will eject them from their factory slots, but will not otherwise affect them, apart from the new restrictions already mentioned.
i recently bought ALL high end bpc's, what does this mean for me? That i just wasted 100 mil in Cash? __________________________

I think they mean this:
many people before the change to copying installed their BPs into producing thousands of copies...
those still run and still produce unlimited copies.
hence - problemo

NO that means that those few people that set up laboratories with copy operations that are still going after the recent change will have their originals EJECTED after their next iteration...
IE ALL current unlimited BPCs will still remain the same, but those people who are still churning out unlimited BPCs (because of their setting high numbers of runs for a copy operation) will have their copy operation shut down. ___________________________________________ General Protection Fault

they SHOULD change all copies to limited licenses but CCP lacks the spine to do what's right, as usual

This "issue" was noted a day or so after the patch, the real issue is why did it take so long to fix.

Just because they missed a part at the patch (to cancel all copies when 1 copy is finished) you're using it to make LOADS of extra money.

This should've been done right after copies were limited, how many weeks late is this?

It's taken longer to fix worse exploits and many more exploits still remain.
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

Wrong. They just know for a fact that the flak they¦d receive after doing that would result in 1. a total mess on this forum and 2. many people leaving the game because they lost hundreds of millions of isk in BPCs... BPCs that should¦ve been limited in the first place, directly after release.

Ummm ... why have you said "wrong" when you agreed with him? They won't do it for fear of the consequences .. which is what he said.

The simplest answer to the entire BPC fiasco was to have left the Blueprints the hell alone between the end of Beta and the beginning of live. Exactly why CCP decided to implement the changes they did was both a mystery and a recipe for disaster.

I think* the reason is because like some otehrs said... too many people would have been ****ed that they put lots of copies or whatever and now they would lose them... so ccp/dev's let them do this for X time and now its over...
so ppl cant say that CCP didnt give them time and just cut off those unlimited copies... etc...
I do think its a bit late though support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

Edited by: Soul Reaver on 04/09/2003 09:47:39 Hey Morkt
Your back :) I have been out the loop for a while as I took some well needed holidays on reisa :) Then I decided to upgrade the mainboard and cpu on my bship (wink) and couldnt get the bloody thing to work for over a week, Had the fitters in and everything. So I have sat in dock all that time!! Fortunatly for me I was level 5ing an 18 dayer so nothing lost. Finally the fitters downloaded a full build for my struggling ailing ship and it worked last night woot :) Anyway I shall be off up to venal tonight to see my old friends TTI and SPVD amongst others :) Message me in game.
Be you a Pirate or a Simple Alt creeper! Sooner or later you'll dance with Soul Reaver and His Amazing Underpants

I would personally say CCP allowed this to continue for a short period of time post patch to allow anyone hosting a Blueprint pertnership deal to produce enough unlimited copies to satisfy their contract.
