I'm sure your all tired of this subject, but I cannot find one that is up to date on this topic. All of the recommendations I have found are discontinued models. Please forgive me
I'm leaving the country for a few months and I am looking for the cheapest laptop capable of running my 2 accounts simultaneously for some fun mining while I'm abroad. Black friday is in a few days so maybe I can really score with the help of the Eve community.
Many thanks in advance |

Aside from the mature and human response that I greatly appreciate, do you think the extra 2 gigs will make the difference? I was looking at about 4gb's |

Well thats my problem... I dont really have a budget. As I said before, the cheapest possible laptop to run 2 accounts at the same time. I want to keep it under or at the most 500 and change. |

Yes that makes sense. Is there something out there in my price range that I might be able to customize in the range of $500 you could recommend? I've been looking at toshiba satellites but I'm not sure about the graphics processors in them. |

How's this for budget: Gateway NV56R14u ($375.00 from Target 6 months ago). Add 4 GB RAM stick (Crucial from Micro Center, $42.00).
Will run just fine with multiple clients in windowed mode with default graphics settings while outputting a movie to another screen in a 1/4 sized browser window off of Netflix. The trick is to disable audio on each client and get used to Eve in silent mode. I know... I wouldn't have thought audio playback would have made a huge difference either. And by multiple clients, I mean 6.
Thats a great recommendation. But I cant seem to find it on target now :(
Im almost considering this refurb from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=1TS-000F-00023 |

Look at this model on amazon or newegg. About 100 over your budget but it has a good video card with 2gb video ram, 6gb ram, i5 cpu, windows 8 and great reviews.
Wow thanks Brutus thats awesome. Im def considering it.

I am considering this, mainly because of the warranty, thanks. Does yours get really hot after extended periods of use?

So here is what I went with
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834312446
Lenovo IdeaPad U510
6GB DDR3 (Upgradeable to 8GB) Intel Core i5-3337U 1.8GHz 1TB HDD+24GB SSD (just enough room on SSD for a game) Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Video Memory is shared)
Thats the gist of its guts. I dear the touchpad is crap but I plan to use a mouse anyway
What do you folks think? |

So then I guess Its safe to say I should be fine with this laptop that I just bought? It looks like I will be testing its limits to seeing how I just bought 2 more accounts for a total of 4 o7. I hope it can at least handle them all on the lowest settings. Ill probably end up upgrading the RAM to 8GB before I leave for my trip, just to be safe |

No I would only be running 4, at the most, but generally I hope this machine can handle 3

Despite the reviews, what do you think? Can it handle 3 accounts at the same time without melting lol? |
