Eve news gets reported as-is. The only remotely op-ed stuff is book/game reviews and alliance updates. If you seriously go "The Mittani sometimes posts his alliance updates to tmc, therefore it's a biased website" you're actually insane. Everything else is purely informational almost to a painful degree.

Comparing it to fox news is super disingenuous and not only delegitimizes the serious problems with biased real news reporting, you're also actually weighing Eve Online "news" as equal to real news.

Even suggesting that eve "news" can be biased or misreported in the same way that real life current events can, indicates how unbalanced some of you people really are.

oh and the moderators there are total aspies who believe themselves to be the final authority on what is "relevant" to EVE, which includes deleting posts with certain titles but, strangely enough, copy/pasting entire blog posts, devblogs and TMC articles (all of which are covered by copyright) into self-posts perfectly fine

most people who cry about TMC being "biased" are morons who are upset that a writer made a mistake in an article and misrepresented something about their lowsec/NPC null trash alliance that didn't even respond to the writer, or are upset because an op/ed published there doesn't agree with their own views on what the game should be like, or they're upset about something they read in a GSF CEO update reposted to TMC which is always preceded by text saying "this is /supposed/ to be propaganda so don't cry about it"

I don't think 'real' objectivity is possible in any kind of human communication, given cognitive flaws and the like. One man's objective truth is another man's bias or slander, etc.

When people are confronted with facts they dislike, they find ways to reject them or dismiss them. Most of the 'real news' industry in Freedomland these days is just a function of confirmation bias - folks watch/read stuff that reinforces their preexisting notions about the world, and seems more like entertainment than reportage.

Enjoy my dumb website or don't, I don't really care to argue about 'objectivity'. Someone who wishes to attack the site isn't likely to be reading it anyway, so who cares what they think? vOv

And yeah, the TMC comments are heavily moderated. You can't type like an idiot, use racial or ethnic slurs, or attack the site itself without getting nuked.
